  • Patent number: 7316050
Abstract: A cleaning tool for a vacuum cleaning device has a housing and a motor arranged in the housing. A tool carrier and a rotatingly driven working tool are provided. The working tool has two ends rotatably supported in the tool carrier. The tool carrier and the working tool form a changing unit. The tool carrier is detachably secured on the housing by catch elements. A gear system is connected between the motor and the working tool, wherein the motor drives via the gear system the working tool. The gear system has a driving wheel driven by the motor and a driven wheel fixedly connected to the working tool. The tool carrier and the housing have wall sections that overlap one another and align the tool carrier relative to the housing and the driven wheel relative to the driving wheel when the changing unit is inserted into the housing.

  • Patent number: 7246410
Abstract: A vacuum cleaning tool has a housing having a turbine chamber and a bottom plate. A working tool is rotatably supported in the housing. An air turbine for driving the working tool is arranged in the turbine chamber and has axial end faces defining a gap relative to the chamber sidewalls. A turbine chamber wall has a first intake window and at least one second intake window. The first intake window supplies a driving suction air stream to the peripheral turbine surface on a first side of a plane that extends through the turbine axis. The second intake window supplies a partial suction air stream to the turbine chamber that enters the turbine chamber on a second side of the plane extending through the turbine axis. The second intake window overlaps at least partially at least one gap and the partial suction air stream flows into the gap.

  • Patent number: 7246408
Abstract: A cleaning tool for a vacuum cleaning device has a housing having a bottom plate with a working slot. A rotatingly driven working tool is rotatably supported in the housing and passes through the working slot to act on a surface to be cleaned. A motor is arranged in the housing and has a motor shaft. A gear system is connected between the motor and the working tool, wherein the gear system has a driving wheel driven by the motor shaft and a driven wheel fixedly connected to the working tool. The driving wheel and the driven wheel are V-belt pulleys and have a peripheral groove, respectively. The gear system further has a V-gear positioned between the driving wheel and the driven wheel, wherein the V-gear has an outer periphery that engages the peripheral grooves for establishing a driving connection between the driving wheel and the driven wheel.

  • Patent number: 6813809
Abstract: A vacuum cleaning tool of a vacuum cleaning device has a housing with a turbine chamber and a working chamber. The housing has a suction slot extending transversely in the vacuum cleaning tool. A suction airflow generated by the vacuum cleaning device enters the working chamber via the suction slot. First and second flow connections between the working and turbine chambers allow the suction airflow to enter the turbine chamber. An air turbine in the turbine chamber is rotatably driven by the suction airflow and drives a cleaning tool in the working chamber. The housing has an outlet opening allowing the suction airflow to exit the turbine chamber. The first and second flow connections are located on opposite sides of an imaginary plane defined by the axis of rotation of the air turbine and a center of the outlet opening. The cross-section of one of the flow connections is adjustable.

  • Patent number: 6615445
Abstract: A vacuum cleaning tool has a housing with a brush chamber and a turbine chamber. A vacuum connector is connected to the housing remote from the brush chamber and has an outlet window. A working roller is arranged in the brush chamber and driven by an air turbine in the turbine chamber. The air turbine has an annular vane arrangement with vanes. The vacuum airflow enters the brush chamber via a suction slot, flows from the brush chamber into the turbine chamber, passes through the air turbine, and exits through the outlet window of the vacuum connector. In the flow direction of the vacuum airflow the outlet window is higher than the intake window. A connecting line between central areas of the intake and outlet windows intersects the air turbine as a secant to define a circle segment in which four to six of the vanes of the annular vane arrangement are located.

Abstract: A vacuum cleaning tool has a housing with a brush chamber and a turbine chamber. A vacuum connector is connected to the housing remote from the brush chamber. A brush roller is arranged in the brush chamber and an air turbine is arranged in the turbine chamber for driving the brush roller. A vacuum airflow enters the brush chamber via a suction slot, flows from the brush chamber into the turbine chamber, flows within the turbine chamber through the air turbine, and exits from the turbine chamber into the vacuum connector. The turbine chamber has an intake cross-section transverse to a flow direction of the vacuum airflow that is greater than an outlet cross-section at the turbine chamber end facing the outlet window. Intermediate cross-sections of the interior of the turbine chamber decrease in a direction toward the turbine chamber end such that the turbine chamber tapers toward the outlet cross-section.
