Patents Assigned to D R Burton Healthcare, LLC
  • Patent number: 11357942
Abstract: An insertion guide facilitates insertion of an endotracheal tube (ETT) into the trachea of a patient instead of the esophagus of the patient. The ETT includes an elongated, somewhat flexible, generally hollow tube and the insertion guide includes an elongated, solid and relatively rigid shaft that is configured to be positioned within the hollow tube of the ETT. The shaft is provided with a radiused portion and/or an angled portion adjacent a distal end of the insertion guide that protrudes outwardly beyond a distal end of the ETT. The radiused portion and/or the angled portion of the shaft facilitate insertion of the distal end of the ETT past the epiglottis and into the trachea of the patient instead of into the esophagus of the patient.

  • Patent number: 10960170
Abstract: A PEP module is provided for producing and transmitting oscillations of expiratory air to the lungs and airways of a user to thereby loosen and mobilize mucus obstructions. The PEP module includes an external device housing having a mouthpiece at a first end thereof and a cover at an opposite second end thereof configured for providing resistance to the airflow of the expiratory air. The PEP module further includes a valve assembly contained within the external housing and disposed medially between the mouthpiece and the cover. The valve assembly includes a valve housing and a valve moveably mounted on the valve housing. The valve rapidly and repeatedly oscillates relative to the valve housing as the user exhales to produce oscillations in the expiratory air that are transmitted to the lungs and airways of the user to loosen and mobilize the mucus obstructions.

  • Patent number: 9233274
Abstract: A combination spirometer and PEP breathing exercise device is described. The device includes a spirometer with a volumetric air chamber having an atmospheric opening, an exhaust port, and an indicator of inhalation rate or volume; a breathing tube having a proximal end in communication with the exhaust port, a distal end with a mouthpiece, and a conduit between the proximal and distal ends; a one-way check valve adjacent the exhaust port allowing air to flow from the spirometer through the breathing tube to the mouthpiece, but preventing air from being exhausted through the spirometer; and a PEP valve in communication with the breathing conduit, whereby expiration of air from the mouthpiece into the breathing tube above a preset pressure causes the valve to oscillate.
