Patent number: 11527177Abstract: Tamper-evident features for containers. A tamper-evident film is target printed onto a sheet material that is thermoformable. The sheet is thermoformed into a container base or lid having a desired shape, such that the tamper-evident film is positioned in a desired area. A container lid is disposed on the container base, and heat sealed to a rim or edge of the container base. The heat sealing activates an adhesive of the tamper-evident film, and when the container lid is removed or separated from the container base, a first portion of the tamper-evident film remains on the container lid and a second portion remains on the container base. The separation of the tamper-evident film provides an indication of tampering.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2019Date of Patent: December 13, 2022Assignee: D&W Fine PackInventors: Roland R. Stephens, Scott Rhea, Masaya Kosaka, Hideki Yokotani, Reiichhi Konishi

Patent number: 9315302Abstract: A tamper-evident container having a tamper-evident structure that indicates to a user when the container has been previously opened or otherwise tampered with. The container can include a body and a lid, where the lid is snap fit into a recess of the body. Based on the snap-fit, the lid is difficult or impossible to remove from the body without activating the tamper-evident structure. The tamper-evident structure can remain at least partially attached to the lid or body to thereby indicate to a user that the container has been opened or otherwise tampered with.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2014Date of Patent: April 19, 2016Assignee: D&W Fine Pack LLCInventors: Joseph Stone, Gregory Jimenez, Richard M. Patent number: 9156595Abstract: Embodiments relate to a tamper evident lid formed of a thermoformed material for use with a container. The lid includes a round, substantially planar surface having a periphery defining a surface circumference. The lid further includes an engagement portion surrounding the periphery and extending there from. The engagement portion includes a friction fit portion extending generally upward from the planar surface; and a tear away portion removably connected to the friction fit portion and being generally parallel to the friction fit portion.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2013Date of Patent: October 13, 2015Assignee: D&W Fine PackInventors: Steve Pace, George A Golota, Andrei Voitnya

Publication number: 20140319009Abstract: Embodiments relate to a reinforced nestable container and a method of forming a reinforced nestable container able to withstand a high pressure processing. The container has an open end, a closed end, and a sidewall extending between the open end and the closed end and defines an interior. The closed end has a cone bottom including a first step that steps towards the closed end and forms a flexible point such that the base can flex and return to its original position and shape; a generally flat portion that extends towards the center of the closed end; a second step that steps towards the open end and in to an inner-profile having a first radius in one direction and a second radius in an opposite direction, forming an s-curve; at least one strengthening fillet; and a base plateau, whereby at least the s-curve formed by the first step, the flat portion and the second step spread tension such that the container can withstand pressure therein.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2013Publication date: October 30, 2014Applicant: D&W Fine PackInventors: Steve Pace, George A. Patent number: 8757416Abstract: A tamper evident container includes a storage element having a flange extending outwardly from a top edge, and a lid having top and outer walls configured to fit over the flange of the storage element with the outer wall extending below a bottom edge of the flange. The outer wall may include an inwardly extending locking indentation engaging the bottom edge of the flange of the storage element to retain the lid on the storage element and prevent it from being removed without permanently deforming at least one of the lid and the storage element, The lid further includes a line of reduced strength extending along a portion of the top wall and/or outer wall to detach a portion of the outer wall and disengage the locking indentation from the flange to allow the lid to be disengaged from the flange without further permanent deformation of the lid or the storage element.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2009Date of Patent: June 24, 2014Assignee: D&W Fine Pack LLCInventors: George Golota, Michael Drozek, James J.
