Abstract: A high sensitivity electromagnetic relay has a moving armature held against two pole pieces of a magnetic circuit by means of a permanent magnet. The armature is subject to the action of two return springs which tend to draw the armature off the pole pieces. A first, non-adjustable spring provides the main antagonistic torque while an adjustable spring which is a separate component part from the main spring is used for fine adjustment of the force acting against the permanent magnet. The amount of current flowing through a coil which is required to trip the relay can then be adjusted finely.
Abstract: Disclosed is a shower head dispenser for bath oil and the like which includes a body member with an axial bore adapted for insertion between a shower line and a shower head. The body member has two longitudinally spaced apertures or transverse bores in its side wall which communicate between the axial bore and a detachable oil container. It has a dam extending transversely across the bore. One of the apertures intercepts the axial bore at the crest of the dam, and the other aperture intercepts the axial bore upstream of the dam. The oil container has an integral valve stem thereon which seats in the end of the downstream transverse bore, and metering is achieved by rotation of the container. When water passes through the axial bore of the body member, the greater pressure at the upstream bore or aperture forces oil out of the container through the downstream bore or aperture into the axial bore at the dam, where it mixes with water enroute to the shower head.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for coating articles with a layer of plastic in which drippage of excess coating material onto the freshly coated articles is eliminated. A plurality of liquid plastic applicator nozzles positioned above a coating station supply coating material to an article. When the coating operation is completed, a suckback cycle is initiated creating a negative pressure inside the nozzles and drawing back into the nozzles any excess material. Where different amounts of coating material may be supplied to different zones on the article, each individual zone of applicator nozzles is independently controlled, both in the flow and suck-back cycles of operation.
Abstract: In an automatic tank filling installation, the duct for insertion in the filling orifice of the tank, e.g. mounted on a railway truck or road vehicle, is mounted for movement in the longitudinal direction of movement of the truck or vehicle, for movement in a direction transverse thereto and for pivotal movement about an axis parallel to the longitudinal direction to allow the axis of the pipe to be aligned with the axis of an off center filling orifice, means being provided for causing the pipe to pivot simultaneously with, and as a function of, movement of the pipe in the transverse direction.

Abstract: A lithographic printing plate in which the oleophilic imaging areas are formed as a thin cross-linked block copolymer film adhered to the hydrophilic surface of a backing plate. The block copolymer comprises blocks of copolylacrylate and polyurethane wherein the copolyacrylate blocks are a copolymer of a hydroxy-containing acrylate and a second acrylate component comprising one or more esters of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid or mixtures thereof and the polyurethane blocks are formed of polyoxybutylene as the prepolymer component. In forming the printing plate the block copolymer is deposited as a thin film containing an ultraviolet initiator and a cross linking promoter and the cross-linked imaging areas are formed by exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
Abstract: A device for enclosing small objects such as coins when packing articles such as cigarette packets in a packaging machine, comprises a feed chute for the coins, a delivery chute in communication with the feed chute and containing a reciprocatable push rod to move the coins through the delivery chute, and a plate above the delivery chute outlet. The plate has a slot to permit the passage of the coins which are moved through the delivery chute and is reciprocatable in the feed direction of the cigarette packets so as to move between a first position blocking the delivery chute outlet and a second position in which the delivery chute outlet is open for the passage of the coins.Separate delivery chutes may be situated in parallel vertical planes, with a connecting feed chute between coplanar delivery chutes.
