  • Patent number: 4817825
Abstract: A water jet injection device for use with mixed beverage dispensing machi is provided, wherein a bushing-type sealing element which fulfills several functions is placed in the injector housing. In particular, the sealing element sealingly separates the mixing chamber from the rearward section of the injector housing in a reliable manner and further acts as a nonreturn valve hermetically sealing the mixing chamber against the supply conduit for fruit syrup or concentrate when the injector in the mixing chamber is inoperative and, at the same time, the sealing element provides a seal when an intake conduit or the like is connected with the lateral intake opening of the injector housing.

  • Patent number: 4807783
Abstract: In a water jet injection device for use with dispensers for producing and spensing beverages mixed of fruit syrup or concentrate there is provided a simple rinsing system which, if need arises, disturbs the water jet of the injection device with the aid of a rod-type member adjustable from outside in such a manner that in the mixing chamber an excess pressure and turbulent flow are generated in place of a vacuum, whereby the mixing chamber is separated from the supply conduit for fruit syrup or the like and an intensive cleaning of all of the parts of the injection device contacting the mixed beverage is effected with the aid of the water of the water jet.

  • Patent number: 4751941
Abstract: A hot water tank is provided for use in beverage dispensing machines which comprises a cover, a discharge valve for hot water, an inlet valve for fresh water, a heating system, controlling means for observing water temperature and water level, an overflow opening communicating with the atmosphere, and an overflow edge extending between the cover and the water level along an external wall of the tank. The overflow opening is covered by means of an automatically closing valve element in the form of a plate. One side of the valve element is swingably fastened to the cover. There is also a ventilating hole provided in the cover, the hole being substantially smaller than the overflow opening.

  • Patent number: 4552286
Abstract: A method and an apparatus are proposed in order to eliminate the influence f viscosity variations in the syrup on the accuracy of metering in vending machines for the production and dispensing of still mixed drinks by considerably raising the injection pressure for the water, to eliminate the effect of the susceptibility of these syrups to spoilage by intentional aeration of the injection zone in the case of mixed drinks based on citrus syrups, and at the same time to keep the pulp particles of the citrus syrup in a desired state of suspension in the prepared mixed drink by intentional introduction of a predetermined quantity of air during the dispensing process, while avoiding foaming and clouding of the mixed drink by intentionally cutting off the introduction of air in the case of mixed drinks based on clear syrups, without the raised injection pressure having to be omitted even with these syrups.

  • Patent number: 4518105
Abstract: For the purpose of dispensing viscous concentrates, particularly or organic ubstances, a cylindrical pumping space is defined by a hollow cylindrical body and two non-return valves associated with the ends of said body, said pumping space being supported in a radial direction at least during each pumping stroke in such a way that changes in volume are only possible in an axial direction in relation to said pumping space. The metering accuracy capable of being attained by means of the device of the invention makes it possible, with the device being of simple and low-cost construction, to dispense extremely small quantities of a concentrate with the device being operated at a pumping cycle frequency which corresponds to the frequency of the power mains by means of which an electromagnetic actuating coil is operated.

  • Patent number: 4393982
Abstract: A container from which liquid is dispensed has a metering chamber arranged t its mouth. A metering device is arranged to cooperate with the outside of this metering chamber to control the amount of liquid allowed to flow out. The flow can be controlled either by determining the time for which the metering device opens the metering chamber, or by constructing the metering chamber as a pump chamber of a specified volume so that the metering device pumps the liquid out of the chamber and therefore dispenses a predetermined volume. In the second method, the metering chamber includes an axially compressible bellows portion which forms a pump chamber. Non-return valves are provided at both ends of the pump chamber, and the metering device comprises plates on either side of the bellows section which can be drawn towards one another to squeeze the bellows section.

  • Patent number: 4378079
Abstract: Apparatus for accurately dosing fluids of varying viscosity, especially hly viscous liquids, including a valve channel adapted to be vertically arranged and secured at one end to the inverted open end of a container for the liquid, a closure portion positioned within said valve channel including a ferrite core secured thereto, means for guiding the closure element vertically within the valve channel, a closure member secured to the bottom of the closure portion adapted to close the valve channel due to the weight of the closure element, a conveying element secured to the closure element for rotation therewith and an electromagnetic device surrounding the closure portion for simultaneously producing vertical and rotational movement of the closure portion and at least rotation of the conveying element whereby on energizing the magnetic device the closure portion is raised to open the valve channel to allow fluid flow through the valve channel and the closure portion is rotated along with the conveying element t

  • Patent number: 4293081
Abstract: A device for and method of metered dispensing of liquids. The device compes a dispensing container, a sealed compensating vessel positioned within the dispensing container and engaged therewith about the opening of the dispensing container and a dosing structure positioned in the opening of the dispensing container and extending into the dispensing container and compensating vessel, said dosing structure and dispensing container having portions cooperable to form a continuous reinforcing bridge between two opposed flexible wall portions of the container. The method includes first creating a vacuum in the dispensing container prior to breaking the seal of the compensating vessel with a portion of the dosing structure by spreading the flexible wall portions of the container with the reinforcing bridge.

  • Patent number: 3991219
Abstract: A plurality of different liquid flavoring agents is accommodated at static ressure in respective compartments having bottom dispensing valves, and the interior bottom region of each compartment is placed in communication with the atmosphere above the top of the compartment. A quantity of carbonated water is discharged into an open receptacle at a location spaced from the compartment, so that it travels at atmospheric pressure towards the valves associated with the respective compartments. When the discharged quantity of carbonated water reaches the valve associated with the compartment containing the selected liquid flavoring agent, the valve of the compartment in question opens and discharges a preselected amount of the liquid flavoring agent into the carbonated water with which the flavoring agent becomes mixed to form a finished beverage that can be dispensed.
