  • Patent number: 6921133
Abstract: A catch member (14) extending in the width direction of a seat cushion (1) is arranged inside a front portion of the seat cushion (1) and is supported so as to be vertically movable. There are also provided a torsion spring (16) for urging the catch member (14) to move upward and a pendulum member (18) for operating with an inertial force upon an abrupt deceleration to inhibit vertical movement of the catch part. When a passenger sits on the seat cushion (1), the catch member (14) moves downward to preclude deterioration in seating comfort. When the passenger's rear end (22) starts to move forward upon an abrupt deceleration, the catch member (14) is locked and the rear end (22) is caught by the catch member (14). This makes it possible to suppressed the forward movement of the passenger with reliability, and allow lightweight and low-cost configuration with simple configuration.

  • Patent number: 6910746
Abstract: A motion control device 10 for a vehicle exerts braking force only on the rear wheel at the inner side of the turning direction for generating a yawing moment on the vehicle only in the turning direction of the vehicle when an absolute value of an actual lateral acceleration Gy is not more than a value Gyth, i.e., when there is a small possibility of the occurrence of an excessive roll angle on the vehicle body, in case where the turning state of the vehicle is the understeer state. On the other hand, it exerts braking force not only on the rear wheel at the inner side of the turning direction, but also on the front and rear wheels at the outer side of the turning direction for generating a yawing moment in the direction opposite to the turning direction too, when the absolute value of the actual lateral acceleration Gy exceeds the value Gyth, i.e.

  • Patent number: 6902502
Abstract: A continuously variable transmission including a driving pulley, a driven pulley, an endless dry-type belt wound around both pulleys, a tension-adjusting device for pressing the slack side of the belt to generate belt tension, stroke mechanisms provided on both pulleys for axially shifting the movable sheaves, a ratio-changing motor, and a gear mechanism for transmitting the rotational force generated by the motor to both stroke mechanisms in such a way that the movable sheaves of both pulleys can be shifted synchronously and axially oppositely in relation to the fixed sheaves. With this arrangement, the belt is prevented from slipping, the transmission ratio can be controlled precisely and stably, and the shift-response of this transmission can be improved. The motor can be reduced both in its size and its consumption of electric power.

  • Patent number: 6893081
Abstract: Protrusions are provided in a front end panel, and holes in which the protrusions are fitted are provided in a front fender in a vehicle body. Accordingly, when the front end panel is secured to the vehicle body, the protrusions are fitted in the holes so that the front end panel is provisionally positioned relative to the vehicle body, and is completely secured by fastening bolts thereafter. Therefore, the front end panel can be easily secured to the vehicle body while being positioned to the latter, without providing the main reference hole or the sub-reference hole in the front end panel or without preparing a special tool to hold the front end panel while the front end panel is positioned relative to the vehicle body, prior to tightening the bolts.

  • Patent number: 6884191
Abstract: A continuously variable transmission having an endless V belt running across a driving pulley and a driven pulley, a transmission ratio changing mechanism for changing the running diameters of the belt around the pulleys radially in opposite directions to each other, and a tension-adjusting unit for pressing the belt to obtain belt tension. The tension-adjusting unit includes a tension roller coming into pressure contact with the slack side of the belt from outside, a swing arm having an end rotatably supported on a transmission case, a link member having an end rotatably supporting a shaft of the tension roller and another end rotatably coupled with another end of the swing arm, and an urging member for swingingly urging the swing arm so that the tension roller presses the belt. A linkage structure having two degrees of freedom is used for supporting the tension roller, so that the tension roller can automatically move to a position where it does not interfere with either pulley at any transmission ratio.

  • Patent number: 6548199
Abstract: A fuel cell device that is designed to circulate cooling water with simplified and compact construction, without any need of a pump for circulating the cooling water, so as to reduce electric power loss. A fuel cell and a radiator are connected through a closed line via an inflow-side cooling pipe and an outflow-side cooling pipe and also the radiator is disposed under the wing of an air spoiler spaced above the fuel cell and open to outside air. With this arrangement, while the fuel cell generates electric power, the cooling water of decreased density flowing out of the fuel cell is allowed to rise through the outflow-side cooling pipe to feed it to the radiator and the cooling water of increased density that was cooled down by heat exchanging the cooling water and outside air is allowed to lower through the inflow-side cooling pipe to feed it to the fuel cell again.
