Abstract: A motor-vehicle door latch has two spaced rigid housing parts, at least one main pivot pin extending between the parts and having an inner end fixed in one of the parts against movement relative thereto and an outer end fixed in the other part against movement relative thereto, and an element pivotal on the main pivot pin. At least one secondary pivot pin extending between the parts has an inner end fixed in the one housing part against movement relative thereto and an opposite outer end, and an element is also pivotal on the secondary pivot pin. A lost-motion joint is provided between the secondary-pin outer end and the other housing part for free limited relative movement in at least one direction of the secondary-pin outer end and the other housing part and no relative movement of the secondary-pin outer end and the other housing part in a perpendicular direction.
