Abstract: A motor vehicle seat has a headrest which is supported by a backrest. At a front side of the headrest, which faces toward the seat occupant, the air nozzle opens out of an air supply device for supplying the head, shoulder, and neck region of the seat occupant with an air flow. The air nozzle is provided with guide elements for directing the emerging airflow. Each component of the air nozzle is arranged so as to be recessed with respect to the front side of the headrest by a comfort dimension.

  • Publication number: 20070278198
Abstract: A welding device (66) in which a movable electrode (6) is attached to moving drive means (68), the movable electrode (6) and a fixed electrode (8) forming a pair, and a part feeding device (82, 8) for feeding a part (10) to a target position by a feeding rod (2, 87) moving forward and backward are integrated through a coupling member (79, 91, 90, 94), so that an end position of the feeding rod (2, 87) moved forward and an end portion of the movable electrode 6 are in a predetermined relative positional relation. Therefore, it is possible to precisely obtain the relative position between the electrode of the welding device and an end portion of the feeding rod of the part feeding device moved forward.

  • Publication number: 20060163916
Abstract: A motor vehicle sliding roof system has a wind deflector which conducts a flow of air, with flow around both sides thereof, over the entire sliding roof opening to prevent rumbling. The efficiency of the wind deflector 3 is improved by having a twist or a torsional distortion, i.e. by various profile sections being torsionally distorted with respect to each other by an angle with respect to each other about a profile axis. The wind deflector is therefore matched to a curvature of the vehicle roof running transversely with respect to the motor vehicle's longitudinal axis. Even in the side region of the sliding roof opening, the system permits a flow which is conducted away over the vehicle roof 9.

  • Patent number: 6533525
Abstract: An extendable loading floor for a motor vehicle has a supporting element which is fitted to the loading floor and can be adjusted along an associated supporting rail which extends in the pull-out direction and is connected to the vehicle. The loading floor is adjustable between a retracted position and en extended position. In order to simplify the design of a loading floor of this type, lifting apparatuses are connected to the vehicle and support the loading floor in the vicinity of the loading edge. The lifting apparatuses are designed to carry out a lift. In addition, the supporting rail rises, by a difference in level corresponding to the lift of he lifting apparatus, between a first rail section which faces away from the loading edge and in which the supporting element of the loading floor is supported in its retracted position, and a second rail section which faces the loading edge and in which the supporting element of the loading floor is supported in its extended position.

  • Patent number: 6408620
Abstract: A method for operating an exhaust-gas cleaning system having an NOx adsorption accumulator and an SOx trap, includes, in normal operating phases, feeding the exhaust gas to be cleaned first via the SOx trap and then via the NOx adsorption accumulator. The normal operating phases are from time to time interrupted by desulphurization phases for desulphurizing the SOx trap. Means are provided for controlling the direction of flow of the exhaust stream so that it optionally passes firstly via the SOx trap and then via the NOx adsorption accumulator, or firstly via the NOx adsorption accumulator and then via the SOx trap, so that during the desulphurization phases the exhaust gas can be passed firstly via the NOx adsorption accumulator and then via the SOx trap.

  • Patent number: 6398890
Abstract: In a trim part for decorative purposes, especially in the interior, and in this case preferably for the interior trim of the passenger compartments of vehicles, a cover layer of natural stone is applied to the visible side of a base part. For this purpose, the negative shape of the base part is machined from a natural stone block and the two are combined permanently to form a sandwich. Then the surface is machined on the visible side, and finally clear lacquer is applied.

  • Patent number: 6394655
Abstract: A method and a shaft bearing for influencing machine background noise emitted by at least by one rotating part of the machine, especially for influencing the background noise within a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. The amplitudes and/or the frequencies of primary vibrations which cause the background noise are preferably lessened and/or supplemented by controlled external interventions. The mounting conditions between the shaft bearing and a rotating part held in the machine shaft bearing, especially a shaft, is varied by a radial adjustment unit having piezo elements. The transfer function of the vibrations, especially the vibrations producing the sound waves, present between the rotating part and the shaft bearing or a component in contact with the shaft bearing, is varied.

  • Patent number: 6349708
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling an internal combustion engine with a mechanically driven supercharger which can be switched on and off by means of a clutch and is arranged in a charge-air line. A bypass-air line with a bypass-air control element connects the intake and delivery sides of the supercharger. A throttle valve is situated upstream of the supercharger or downstream in the charge-air line. The clutch and/or the bypass-air control element are controlled with specifiable values for a degree of opening and/or a switching state of the clutch, and, in a specified part-load range of the internal combustion engine, the bypass-air control element closes the bypass-air line when the clutch is open.

  • Patent number: 6053568
Abstract: A lamella-type sliding roof of a motor vehicle, has lamellae which, when the roof is, open, are tilted upward in a spaced manner with respect to one another and, particularly with respect to their closed position, are pushed on one another in a distance-reducing manner. A vehicle ceiling which is deformable and exercises a sealing function in a particularly simple and effective manner irrespective of the momentary position of the lamellae in their displacement direction extends in each case exclusively in an area situated below them. For this purpose, the deformable vehicle ceiling is constructed as a foil leading transversely to the displacement direction of the lamellae continuously into a dirt and water removal groove.

  • Patent number: 6050323
Abstract: The castings are cast in several casting slices. The casting slices of a casting are cast, staggered timewise in succession using the same method and from the same alloy but in different casting molds or different parts of a casting mold. At the seams, the casting slices are cast together along a defined shapewise contour. The casting slices can be cast together indirectly with interposition of a separate seam strip. However, they can also be cast onto one another, with an already cast first casting slice being placed in a second casting mold and cast together therein with the second casting slice. Complete body side wall parts are cast in three casting slices, with the seams being located in the roof and sill areas.
