Abstract: A motor vehicle including a preventive protective system which includes safety devices actuated as a function of information obtained from a vehicle state sensor system and evaluated in a data evaluation and control device. In the associated process, the data evaluation and control device compares the recorded information with at least one triggering threshold value and actuates at least one safety device which is associated with this driving state when a criticality of the driving state is identified. Triggering of the associated safety device is actuated with respect to a force time gradient as a function of the identified criticality of the driving state.

  • Publication number: 20080300749
Abstract: An air supply mechanism for a vehicle seat comprises a control device for driving a fan and a heating element connected downstream of the fan. When the vehicle is unlocked, a vehicle door is opened and/or a folding-top switch is actuated in order to open the folding-top, the control device causes a heating element to be preconditioned. When there is a switching-on signal for the air supply mechanism, the control device ends the preconditioning and switches on the heating element and the fan. The heating element and fan are subsequently regulated by the control device as a function of vehicle speed and external temperature. In this manner, a seat occupant does not experience an initial draft or a delayed switching-on reaction but rather experiences a pleasant warmth even immediately after the air supply mechanism is switched on.

  • Publication number: 20080290703
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle seat comprising a back rest (11), a height-adjustable head rest (12), and an aeration device (13) that is integrated into the back rest and comprises a blow opening (16) arranged in the upper side (111) of the back rest (11) and used to blow out hot air. The aim of the invention is to improve the aeration device by reducing the aeration noises and generating a comfortable warm feeling for the user of the seat, in the head, neck and shoulder region. To this end, a diffuser (19) is arranged in the intermediate space between the back rest (11) and the head padding (15) of the head rest (12), said diffuser being embodied and oriented in relation to the blow opening in such a way that the hot air flow through the blow opening towards the head padding is deflected into a wide, diffuse hot air flow flowing around the head, neck and shoulder area of a user (10).

  • Publication number: 20080284414
Abstract: A hysteresis brake is provided, such as for an electric camshaft adjuster, has with an excitation coil, a stator with an inner and outer stator part, and a moveable rotor with a hysteresis band which is movable between the inner and outer stator part. The excitation coil, which produces a main magnetic flux for a magnetic adjuster is arranged between the inner and outer stator part. A sensor enables the rotor and/or the hysteresis band to receive a secondary magnetic flux caused by the main magnetic flux, or enables the excitation coil to receive the main flux. An evaluation and control unit evaluates the magnetic flux received and determines angle and/or rotational speed information from detected changes of the magnetic flux.

  • Publication number: 20080278304
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for monitoring vehicle tire pressure a tire inflation pressure value is acquired and compared with at least one stored setpoint value; and based on the comparison result, it is determined whether the vehicle tire has an incorrect tire pressure, (particularly, an excessively low tire pressure). According to the invention when a detected activation event occurs, a current kilometer reading is acquired and is stored together with predefined information. An activation event is detected if an inflation of at least one of the tires or manual re-activation is detected.

  • Publication number: 20080275607
Abstract: A method is provided for operating an active chassis system, in which wheels of at least one axle are arranged with a toe-in angle, and actuating elements which interact with supporting assemblies which are arranged between the wheels and a vehicle body. Wheel contact forces of the wheels assume different values as a result of the actuating elements being actuated. A side force is generated at the wheels which have a toe-in angle, and a resulting yaw moment is produced. A desired yaw rate is determined based upon information from a device which is arranged in the vehicle in order to determine the profile of the roadway in a control unit, and the wheel contact forces are set as a function of the desired yaw rate.
