Abstract: In a device and a method for removing nitrogen oxides from the exhaust of an internal combustion engine which is operated predominantly with an excess of air, the internal combustion engine is assigned an exhaust system having a nitrogen oxide reduction catalytic converter which comprises two catalytic converter parts, whose reducing agent filling levels can be determined. Metering of a reducing-agent-containing additive into the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine takes place as a function of the reducing agent filling level of the first catalytic converter part and/or of the second catalytic converter part.

Abstract: In a method for operating an electrically adjustable vehicle seat which has at least one electrically adjustable upholstered seat element and a sitting weight measuring device for sensing the weight of a vehicle occupant sitting on the vehicle seat, prior to an initial sensing of the weight by the sitting weight measuring device, the upholstered seat element is automatically moved into a measuring position. Abstract: An internal combustion engine with exhaust gas aftertreatment and method for the operation thereof are provided. Abstract: A control system for a motor vehicle, including a manual actuating means with a number of degrees of freedom for selecting and/or activating entries in a menu structure and a screen display with display areas for displaying the menu structure. At least two degrees of freedom of the manual actuating means move a cursor for selecting and/or activating one of the entries in an active display area. A first degree of freedom corresponds to a turning movement, and in a clockwise direction about a z-axis a second degree of freedom corresponds to a turning movement in a counterclockwise direction about a z-axis. In addition, cursor movement in the active display area is effected by the first and/or second degree of freedom, depending on the orientation of the displayed entries.
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle with rear seats (3), the seat bench (5) and backrests (6) of which may be placed in a first position in which passengers sit in the direction of travel and into a second position in which the load area of the luggage compartment (4) is increased. The seat bench (5) and the backrests (6) may each be pivoted about a horizontal pivot axis (7, 7?) for adjustment from the first to the second position, whereby locking devices (10) are provided on at least the backrests (6), which fix the backrests (6) to the position when locked. According to the invention, a controller (13) is provided which forcibly couples the locking devices (10) for the backrests (6) to the position of the seat bench (5), such that the backrests (6) can only be adjusted from the first position to the second position thereof, when the seat bench (5) is in the second position thereof.
Abstract: A hardtop a convertible vehicle has at least two roof parts which can be displaced between a closed position and a stowed position. In the stowed position, the roof parts are stowed in a vehicle trunk, and can be brought into a loading position which is elevated relative to the stowed position. Furthermore, the hardtop has a folding-top actuation assembly which has at least one folding-top linkage, at least one drive device and at least one bearing device. The roof parts are coupled to the bearing device via at least one link of the folding-top linkage and can be displaced by the drive device. The bearing device has a main bearing and an intermediate bearing which is movable relative to the main bearing. The drive device has a translatory drive element and a rotatory drive elements, which are engaged with each other. The link of the folding-top linkage is connected to the rotatory drive element and is mounted such that it can rotate together with the intermediate bearing about a common pivot.
Abstract: A stop device is provided for a spindle drive which consists of a threaded spindle and a spindle nut with a stop. The stop device includes a limit stop and also a faceplate arranged between the stop of the spindle nut and the limit stop. The limit stop and the stop of the spindle nut are offset in relation to one another and are able to act upon the faceplate such that a bending moment can be applied to the faceplate when the threaded spindle and spindle nut of the spindle drive are in a limit stop position relative to one another.

Abstract: A vehicle door has an easy exit feature that holds the vehicle door in a desired latched position by applying a latching torque with a controllable damper. An evaluation and control unit detects the desired latched positions by evaluating an instantaneous door movement sensed by a sensor system, and accordingly actuates the damper. The evaluation and control unit releases the latched position after a corresponding activation has been detected. The easy exit feature is embodied as a variable latching function, and applies a maximum holding force to the vehicle door by way of the damper and locks the vehicle door in the desired latched position.

Abstract: A method for operating an internal combustion engine, injects fuel directly into a combustion chamber as a main injection, a postinjection and optionally also as a preinjection. An injection nozzle with a plurality of injection bores effects the preinjection and the postinjection preferably which is carried out cyclically. To minimize wetting of the combustion chamber walls, during the postinjection the partial quantities of fuel and a lift of the nozzle needle of the injection nozzle are set so that, for each partial quantity of the postinjection injected into the combustion chamber, the reach of the respective fuel jet in the combustion chamber is limited and the reach is less than the distance to a combustion chamber boundary.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for temperature management in a network (1) with ring topology, wherein control devices (2) exchange data via the network (1) by means of transmitting/receiving units. The object of the present invention is to find a method and a data bus system which increases the fail safety of a network (1) with ring topology. For this purpose, the temperature near to the transmitting/measuring unit of at least one control device (2) is measured. Abstract: In a safety system for operating at least one electrically operated locking device of a door of a vehicle, electric opening of the locking device is inhibited dependent on sensor values which are related to the driving situation and indicate an impact. In one embodiment, inhibiting of electric opening is limited to doors that are adjacent vehicle occupants.

Abstract: Recently, at least some parts of exterior components of vehicles have been made of plastic as well by back-molding lacquer films with plastic. A large number of such exterior components require transparent areas which are produced separately and are inserted into die-cut zones of the component. Said method requires a lot of effort while joints are difficult to prevent. The aim of the invention therefore is to create a component that can be produced in a simpler manner and without creating gaps as well as an adequate method for the production thereof. Said aim is achieved by introducing a hole into the film for the transparent area, inserting said film into the component mold, and then back-molding the same with a transparent plastic material in the mold such that the hole is filled with the transparent plastic material.
