  • Patent number: 6913263
Abstract: A target holding device is disclosed. Preferred embodiments of the invention includes one or more of the following features. First, an automatic reloading feature of the invention allows a first replacement target stored in a target storage region of the device to slide down into a target exposure region of the device after an initially exposed target in the target exposure region is destroyed. Second, a ricochet feature of the invention deflects an incoming projectile to ricochet in a direction away from the shooter of the projectile. Third, a spare target viewing feature enables the shooter to determine whether additional targets are present within the target storage region. Fourth, the mounting feature of the invention positions the target storage region above the target exposure region. Fifth, the target storage region of the device has the capacity to store two or more additional targets.

  • Patent number: 5634456
Abstract: A gun suitable for firing paintballs or pellets using compressed gas having an elongate breech section with a longitudinal passageway formed therein and a handle and barrel connected thereto. A hammer is slidably mounted in the passageway and a spring biases the hammer to a forward, firing position. A gas valve system is arranged in the passageway and is connectible to a source of compressed gas. A trigger includes a sear engaging member slidable in a cavity formed in the trigger. A spring biases this member to a rearward position. A sear with a downwardly extending hook is pivotally mounted on a sear pin. A further spring biases the sear so as to pivot the rear end upwardly into engagement with a flange formed on the bolt of the gun. Preferably the hammer and bolt are rigidly connected together by means of two links positioned on opposite sides of the hammer and bolt to which they are both connected.

  • Patent number: 5363834
Abstract: A gun having a first mode of operation for propelling the projectile by compressed gas contained within a cartridge and a second mode of operation for propelling the projectile by air compressed by a self contained pumping mechanism. A switching system is provided for switching between the first and second modes. The switching system includes a valve having a first position corresponding to the first mode of operation and a second position corresponding to the second mode of operation. The first position allows compressed gas from the cartridge to propel the projectile and the second position prevents compressed gas from the cartridge from propelling the projectile and allows the projectile to be propelled by compressed air from the pumping mechanism. A switch member is provided for positioning the valve in the first and second positions. The switch member is capable of being actuated by the gun operator to switch the gun between the first and second modes.
