The transport pouch also includes a front panel and a rear panel, an adhesive closure, at least one removable cover, and a form closure. When the flap portion of the transport pouch is folded onto the body portion of the transport pouch, the flap area of the adhesive closure is adhered to the body area of the adhesive closure, and the form closure is closed, the folding portion of the transport pouch acts as a barrier that prevents billowing of the body portion of the transport pouch, caused by a relative pressure increase in the transport space due to a pressure drop in the surroundings of the transport pouch, from tearing open the form closure and thus from tearing open the adhesive closure.

The collecting bag includes a female connector fitment adapted to connect to a sample end of the evacuated test tube to enable taking a urine sample from urine deposited in the bag using the evacuated test tube. The female connector fitment is sealed by means of a sealing technique to a front and/or back panel of the self-standing urine collecting bag, at a height above a bottom panel of the bag, such that the insert opening of the fitment faces outward and the sample end of the test tube can be inserted into the recess and be removed from the recess while the bag is in its standing position.

Abstract: A specimen collection device includes a test stick with an absorbent pad and a stick receptacle with a squeeze chamber and an outlet port at a distal end of the stick receptacle. The test stick has a stick body which extends through a pad channel. A stick tip extends through the outlet port when squeezing the absorbent pad against a chamfer end face of the squeeze chamber. The absorbent pad does not pass through the outlet port but remains in the squeeze chamber. Only the stick passes through the outlet port during squeezing. Advantageously, the test stick remains aligned inside the stick receptacle during squeezing which contributes to a proper release of fluid from the absorbent pad to obtain the fluid specimen in a specimen tube.

The applicator portion is folded and sealed onto the reservoir portion such that a sharp fold is present between the reservoir portion and the applicator portion. The fold blocks the conduit such that a liquid held in the reservoir is prevented from flowing into the conduit. Furthermore, the applicator portion comprises a grip tab between two tear lines.
