Patents Assigned to Dal-Craft, Inc.
  • Patent number: 5969884
Abstract: A place keeper, for use with a straight edge for designating a row on a cross-stitch pattern, is slidable along the straight edge so the straight edge designates a row, and the place keeper designates a column. Two or more place keepers can be used to designate a group of columns, with one place keeper on each side of the columns to be designated. The straight edge is preferably a line magnifier having magnets at each end to hold the magnifier to a magnet board. The magnets may space the magnifier from the magnet board to allow the place keepers to slide without interference from the surface on which the magnifier is resting.

  • Patent number: 5636743
Abstract: A tray for temporarily or permanently receiving beads for bead work has a plurality of separate compartments, each with a separate cover. A single sheet of material can be vacuum formed to create the compartments, and the covers can also be vacuum formed. A rib on the covers is received within the compartments and frictionally engages the side walls to hold the covers in place. One end of each compartment has angled walls to provide a funnel arrangement, leading to a pour spout, and an upwardly ramped bottom portion directs beads to the spout. The cover can be reversed and used to prevent spilling of beads during pouring. The tray can also define one of more design grooves for laying out the pattern of beads.

  • Patent number: 5265754
Abstract: A container for beads and the like has a body connecting a group of individual compartments. Each compartment is relatively shallow for providing easy access to the contents; and, the bottom of each compartment is sloped so beads will move towards the wall of the compartment, and the bottom is concave so it will not be scratched when resting on surfaces. The container has a plurality of alignment posts to facilitate stacking of containers. The compartments have separate, individually removable, lids so any number of selected compartments can be uncovered for use while the rest remain covered for safety. The compartments are uniformly spaced so a plurality of compartments can be uncovered simultaneously, and beads in a plurality of compartments poured from one container to another.

  • Patent number: 5251943
Abstract: A pick-up for handicraft items and accessories consists of a stick having an adhering member on one end of the stick. The adhering member may be hook material of hook and loop fasteners, or it may be adhesive of the type that remains tacky. The stick may have a ring to be supported by a person's finger, or may be long enough to be grasped by the hand. A kit for the pick-ups includes a bottle of the adhesive and several sticks. The package for the kit has a cradle to hold a stick when not in use, and provides a base for the bottle of adhesive.

  • Patent number: 4978008
Abstract: A yarn organizer holds the different colors of yarn required for a needlcraft project. The organizer is in the form of a flat card member having holes adjacent to the edges of the card. The holes are uniformly spaced from the edges and uniformly spaced apart, to maintain the rigidity of the card. The holes are of different diameters for convenience in holding different sizes of bundles of yarn. One surface of the card is adapted for writing so an identification of the yarns can be placed on the card adjacent to each hole.

  • Patent number: 4838426
Abstract: A needle case for needlecraft work has a magnet on one side to allow the case to be held on the magnet board. The magnet holds the case for mounting but does not hold the needles within the case. A needle threader has a flat threader that can be inserted through the eye of a needle until an eye of the threader extends through the needle. A shoulder on the needle threader stops the needle, and a notch in the threader communicates with the eye of the threader for ease in passing yarn into the eye of the threader. The needle threader is made of a ferromagnetic material, and may be held on the magnet of the needle case. Further, the needle threader can be held on the magnet of the needle case, and remain there when the needle case is carried by a magnet board.

  • Patent number: 4832240
Abstract: A needle threader for needlecraft needles has a notch to retain a needle in position on the threader while thread is passed through the eye in the needle threader. The notch may be used in conjunction with shoulders utilized as stops for the needle, or may be used with the more conventional threader. The notch for retaining the needle allows easier threading because the threader with the needle can be held with one hand while the thread is manipulated with the other.

  • Patent number: 4483505
Abstract: A foldable stand for holding a card or the like for easy viewing. The stand includes a base and a supporting member pivotal with respect to each other. A pivot body carries the pivot pin, and carries a stop pin that extends into the vertex between the base and the supporting member as the members are rotated in opposite directions. The pivot body also carries a trough that is aligned to carry the card or the like when the stop pin is in position to limit the rotation of the base and supporting members.

  • Patent number: 4483588
Abstract: A magnifier for use in needlework. The magnifier has magnets at each end to allow the magnifier to stick to the usual magnet board over a graph or pattern being worked on. A reference line on the magnifier provides a convenient way to keep the place being worked on, and allows a person to see above and below the line to keep the work in context with the entire pattern.

  • Patent number: 4478333
Abstract: A storage case for needlecraft materials and the like, with an extender for the case. The storage case has three sections hinged together so the case can be folded into thirds, each of the three sections having pockets for storing materials for easy retrieval. At least one section has a sub-divided pocket for receiving knitting needles. A flap above the sub-divided pocket can either cover the ends of short needles, or lie against the backing to allow long needles to pass over the flap. Another flap is positioned to cover the ends of the long needles. One end section has a large pocket opening towards the hinge. An extender is foldable about its hinge into two sections. One section of the extender can be placed into the large pocket, and the entire case can be closed as one case.

  • Patent number: 4391370
Abstract: An embroidery project accessory carrying case for conveniently transporting the materials for at least one embroidery or other needlework project. The carrying case has a flexible backing sheet with storage pockets at each end. One end of the backing sheet includes a main pocket and a secondary pocket with a single flap to close both pockets, these pockets being adapted to receive the tools and bulky items of needlework materials. The other end of the backing sheet includes a large pocket and a shallow pocket. The large pocket is adapted to receive pattern books and the like while the shallow pocket receives a supply of thread. Fastening devices are attached to the carrying case such that the backing sheet can be folded twice--into thirds--and fastening devices will hold the case in this condition; and, the backing sheet can be folded once--into half--and the fastening devices will hold the case in this condition. The case can be bent backwards or laid flat for access to the materials.
