Abstract: The present disclosure provides a medical connector for enteral applications. The medical connector includes a body portion having a distal patient access fitting and a proximal fluid delivery device fitting as well as an administration port. The administration port for administrating or extracting fluids or medicine includes a cylindrical cavity, an administration port seal having a normally-closed slit, a plunger, a plunger sleeve, and a compression member. Engaging a non-luer female tip with the administration port actuates the compression member such that the plunger pierces the normally-closed slit, causing it to open allowing fluid communication with the body portion.

Abstract: An endotracheal tube holder is provided. The tube holder allows adjustment of the position of an endotracheal tube during use. In some embodiments the tube holder comprises a body portion, wherein the body portion is elongated and comprises an elongated opening. The tube holder also comprises a tube grasping mechanism and an attachment mechanism for adjustably securing the tube grasping mechanism to the body portion. The attachment mechanism comprises a rod member configured to pass through the elongated opening, a widened proximal body connected to a proximal end of the rod member; and a widened distal body attached to a distal end of the rod member, having a size that prevents the widened distal body from passing through the elongated opening to secure the attachment mechanism to the body portion.

Abstract: The present disclosure provide catheter anchoring devices including anchoring devices that can be used to secure percutaneous catheters to a patient. In some embodiments, a catheter anchoring device comprises a locking tab having a front surface including a first mechanical engagement material and a back surface to be adhesively secured to a catheter by wrapping the back surface around a catheter surface. The catheter anchoring device further comprises a base portion comprising a base material layer including a bottom surface for adhesive application to the skin of a patient and a top surface including a second mechanical engagement material for engagement with the first mechanical engagement material of the locking tab; and a flexible closure extending from the base material layer and including a third mechanical engagement material for engagement with the top surface of the base material layer and a through-hole sized to allow passage of a tab protrusion.

Abstract: A pH indicator module is configured to attach on a proximal end to a suction mechanism and on a distal end to a proximal end of an aspiration tube. The pH indicator module comprises a barrel connector configured to attach to an aspiration tube, the barrel connector forming an inner passageway, the passageway being located in a direct flow path of the aspirated fluid when the pH indicator module is used. The barrel connector is configured to receive a pH indicator material placed in the passageway, the pH indicator material being configured to come into contact with a direct flow of the aspirated fluid drawn into the passageway to determine a pH value of the aspirated fluid. The pH indicator module also comprises a cap portion configured to attach on a proximal cap end to the suction mechanism and to attach on a distal cap end to the barrel connector.

Abstract: A tube holder assembly is provided for securing a medical tube such as an endotracheal tube to a patient. In one illustrative embodiment, the holder assembly comprises a support strap for placement around the patient's head or neck region, a bracket for holding the endotracheal tube in position relative to the patient's mouth, and a face anchoring portion for securing the support strap to the patient's face region. The support strap includes a front surface and an opposed, back surface. The bracket may be attached to the front surface of the support strap. The bracket may include an upper bar and an arm extending from the upper bar. The face anchoring device may comprise a first surface configured to adhere to the patient's face region, and a second, opposed surface having a strap-engaging portion configured to mechanically engage the back surface of the support strap. The support strap may be configured to be repeatedly releasable and adjustable to the face anchoring device.

Abstract: A tube holder is provided for securing a medical tube to a patient. In one illustrative embodiment, the tube holder includes a band to secure a medical tube to a patient, and first and second tabs attached at first and second ends of the band to secure the medical tube. Each of the first and second tabs include a hook surface and a loop surface, the hook surface and loop surface to mate with one another to secure the medical tube. The first and second tabs include moisture resistant material located on a surface contacting the patient's skin.

Abstract: An improved abdominal binder is provided. The abdominal binder can include at least one external securing mechanism for holding a drainage bulb. In one embodiment, the securing mechanism can include one or more strips of hook or loop type material. In another embodiment, an improved abdominal binder that can support multiple drainage bulbs externally of the abdominal binder is provided. The improved abdominal binder can further include one or more openings to receive a drainage tube of a bulb held external to the abdominal binder.

According to one illustrative embodiment, a transducer holder is provided that includes a base, one or more fasteners for securing one or more transducers, respectively, at least one strap attached to the base for securing the base to the patient, wherein at least two of the fasteners have a different color from one another.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for securing a medical device on a patient's body. According to one preferred embodiment, a medical device holder is provided that includes a strap for attachment to a patient, a pouch attached to the strap, the pouch including a front layer and a back layer that forms a pocket for receiving the medical device, and a first fastener fixedly attached to an inner surface of the front layer to attach the front layer to the back layer to secure the medical device in the pouch.

Abstract: A medical conduit holder for releasably securing and reattaching a medical conduit, for example, a Foley catheter, to the limb of a patient. The holder includes a non-stretchable stabilizing member having a looped fabric surface, and attached to a stretchable primary strap to form an enclosed nonstretchable area of the primary strap. The primary strap is configured for attachment to the limb of the patient. The holder further includes a secondary strap attached to both the platform and the primary strap, preferably at the center of the secondary strap. The secondary strap has a first portion with a window, and an engagement portion dimensioned to loop around the conduit and fit through the window. In use, the engagement portion is looped over the medical conduit and through the window, such that the hooked surface of the engagement portion contacts the looped surface of the stabilizing member in order to secure the medical conduit.

Abstract: An arm board and method of using the same for positioning and restraining the forearm and hand of a patient to receive either an intravenous or intra-arterial line. An elongated malleable core member is provided with padding on at least one surface, the core member having an adjustable bending point along the length with the member capable of nonpermanently bending at the bending point from a flat configuration to an angled configuration. A pair of adjustable straps secure the patient's hand and forearm to the core member.

Abstract: A disposable device and method for holding a plurality of medical conduits including an elongated foam strip having first and second ends and a layer of repositionable adhesive on a first surface of the strip. A clip is provide at the first end for releasably attaching the device to a bed sheet, blanket or patient's clothing, and the second end is folded over toward the first end with the conduits secured between the layers by the adhesive layer which substantially surrounds the circumference of each conduit to hold the same without allowing the conduits to be twisted or pulled through the holder.

Abstract: A nasal dressing holder having a central band positionable under the nose for holding a nasal dressing or packing in place, a pair of support straps on either side of the band positionable across the cheeks, a pair of thin elastic loops which are positionable around the ears for holding the device in place, and means for releasably adjusting the strap length. In a preferred embodiment, a double-sided hook tab is positionable between a folded end of the support strap and another portion of the strap and is releasably attachable to loop material on the strap, to enable releasable and adjustable attachment of the device to a patient. The tension applied to the dressing or packing can be varied by adjusting the folded connection between the strap and the hook tab.

Abstract: An endotracheal tube holder providing enhanced patient comfort and easy and secure attachment of various sized tubes. The holder includes a multi-component plastic clamping device having an inner bite block and straps for maintaining the device in position. The device further includes a support member with a barrel, and a cylinder movable within the barrel, and complimentary bores through the barrel and cylinder which release the tube when the bores are aligned and clamp down on the tube when the bores are in various unaligned positions.
