The compositions or co-granulates can be used in a water-soluble and/or water-dispersible water softening, cleaning or detergent formulations, and pectin can be used to stabilize effervescent tablets. The effervescent agent can contain an acidic component such as a tricarboxylic acid, a dicarboxylic acid other than tartaric acid, inorganic acids, and a basic component.

Abstract: The invention relates to a detergent composition comprising at least one cationic derivate of a polysaccharide. The cationic derivate has an average molecular weight of less than 30000 g/mol, a degree of substitution ranging between 0.01 and 3. The invention further relates to a method of reducing, limiting or preventing the occurrence of spotting and/or filming on hard surface substrates during rinsing or washing and to the use of a detergent composition to reduce, limit or prevent the occurrence of spotting and/or filming on hard surface substrates during rinsing and/or washing.

Abstract: Disclosed is a cleaning composition containing a metal-containing bleach catalyst, a carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and further commonly used cleaning composition ingredients such as a builder, a surfactant, polymers/cobuilders, and an enzyme. Preferably, the cleaning composition does not contain a bleach activator such as tetraacetylethylenediamine (TAED). Preferably, the metal-containing bleach catalyst contained in the cleaning composition is a cobalt (Co) containing bleach catalyst or a manganese (Mn) containing bleach catalyst. In the cleaning composition, the carboxymethylcellulose is preferably present in an amount of at least 0.02% (w/w), preferably at least 0.05% (w/w) relative to total amount of the cleaning composition.

Abstract: A detergent additive for commercial detergents (softener agents) that contain fabric softeners is described. This additive is based on agglomerates of a smectic laminar silicate coated with divided particles. This detergent additive is characterized in that the agglomerates are at least partially coated with particles of a cation exchanger that will pass through a screen with a mesh of about 45 .mu.m and have an average particle size of less than about 10 .mu.m, where the amount of cation exchanger particles is about 2 to 30 wt % (based on the dry weight of the uncoated agglomerates). This detergent additive may be used in the conventional detergent formulations.
