Abstract: A front airbag of a vehicle occupant restraint system comprises an outer cover including a front wall and a peripheral wall, wherein a fixing portion (22) for fixing the front airbag tightly to the vehicle is provided on the peripheral wall and the front wall constitutes a baffle for the vehicle occupant and includes a circumferential first peripheral edge (20) which is circumferentially connected at a circumferential second peripheral edge (24) of the peripheral wall to the latter. The length of the two peripheral edges (20, 24) is equal. The front wall includes a cut (12) that is flatly spreadable. The front wall cut (12) has at least one notch (28) starting from the first peripheral edge (20) at two connecting points (32), wherein from each of the connecting points (32) an edge portion (34) of the notch (28) extends into the interior of the front wall cut (12) so that the two edge portions (34) are convergent in V-shape and meet in one point.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to an airbag module that comprises an inflatable airbag, an inflator for inflating the airbag and a plurality of securing units for attaching the airbag module to a vehicle. The airbag has a C-shaped configuration including two juxtaposed legs in an imaginary cross-sectional plane that is transverse to its longitudinal extension. The disclosed design of the airbag is configured to improve deployment behavior such that in a mounting situation of the airbag 10 a central plane defined between the two legs intersects a vertical plane extending through the longitudinal extension of the airbag. A manufacturing method for an airbag module is disclosed.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a side airbag for a vehicle safety system of an automotive vehicle including an autonomously driving vehicle. The side airbag comprises at least one inflatable area and at least one non-inflatable area which subdivides the inflatable area and forms at least one adaptive deployment portion which, regarding its deployment shape, automatically and adaptively adapts to the position of an assigned vehicle seat. Further, a vehicle safety system is also disclosed.

Abstract: An airbag module for an automotive vehicle is disclosed. The airbag module comprises a folded inflatable airbag, a fastening element for mounting the airbag on the vehicle, a mounting jacket in which the folded airbag is received and fixed, as well as an elongate flexible holding strap for positioning the airbag in its deployed inflated state. The holding strap extends from a first strap end fastened on the airbag to an opposite second strap end to which the fastening element is attached. In the folded state of the airbag, the holding strap is connected to the mounting jacket or is received in the mounting jacket.
