    Abstract: The invention relates to a circuit breaker for electrical supply lines, particularly power supply lines or battery cables, for motor vehicles, which circuit breaker is comprised of a first connecting element (1), a second connecting element (3) connectable to said first connecting element (1), and a current path whereby in the conducting state of the circuit breaker a current passes between the first connecting element (1) and the second connecting element (3). The technical problem of providing a circuit breaker for electrical supply lines which can be manufactured and advertageously, which ensures an error-free operation is solved in that is a pyrotechnic separating unit (5) is disposed which is thermally actuatable by Joule heat emitted at least one of said connecting elements (1, 3) by at least one of said connecting elements (1, 3) and in that the connection between the connecting elements (1, 3) can be released by means of the actuated pyrotechnic separating unit (5).

    Abstract: A running gear toothing for gearwheels and a process for producing such running gear is provided. In order to be able to work complex shapes (e.g. reinforcing ribs) into running gear, a preforged or precast gearwheels are produced oversized, and are then finished using an electrochemical erosion process. The invention eliminates complex machining operations and permits gear teeth finishing in highly spaced-constrained applications, thereby eliminating the need for production and assembly complex multi-component gears.

    Abstract: An A-pillar for a motor vehicle running from a vehicle roof in the direction of a vehicle floor and having a curved profile over at least one longitudinal section, has an essentially solid circumferential surface and is of essentially hollow configuration in an inner region. The A-pillar in its curved longitudinal section has a reinforcement strut which passes through a hollow cross section of the A-pillar. The reinforcement strut runs from a rear wall region of the A-pillar to a front wall region. The reinforcement strut may have an elliptical or a circular recess along an upper and a lower boundary line. The A-pillar thus achieves high strength at reduced weight.

    Abstract: An exhaust-gas turbocharger in an internal combustion engine having a compressor in the induction tract and an exhaust-gas turbine in the exhaust-gas line wherein the exhaust-gas turbine has at least two spiral ducts which in each case open into a radial flow inlet passage. Arranged in the radial flow inlet passage is a guide cascade ring which is disposed between two axially delimiting walls. One of the walls is designed to be axially displaceable and adapted to accommodate the vanes of the guide cascade ring. The wall is displaceable axially outward to such an extent that the vanes of the radial guide cascade ring are no longer in contact with the wall and there is a direct, unobstructed flow path to an outflow duct in the exhaust-gas turbine.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a composite structure for an electronic component with an undoped diamond layer, at least one side of which is covered by a doped non-diamond layer, arranged on a growth substrate. The diamond layer has a thickness of less than 0.5 .mu.m. In addition, the conduction and/or valence bands of the diamond layer and the nondiamond layer exhibit such a band discontinuity that charge carries from the doped non-diamond layer which are excited optically and/or thermally, for example, can be drawn, with a reduction of their potential energy, into the valence and/or conduction band of the undoped diamond layer. This configuration causes a potential well to exist in the area of the diamond layer, at least in one direction, with a quantizing effect for the charge carriers drawn into the diamond layer.
