Abstract: Disclosed are a single-channel multi-region motion sensor and a method of operating the same. The single-channel multi-region motion includes: a first resonant circuit; at least one first electrode electrically connected to the first resonant circuit; a second resonant circuit; at least one second electrode electrically connected to the second resonant circuit; and a detection circuit configured to receive a first electric signal formed on the first resonant circuit and the at least one first electrode and a second electric signal formed on the second resonant circuit and the at least one second electrode. The detection circuit detects a difference between the first resonant frequency of the first electric signal and the second resonant frequency of the second electric signal, and detects the proximity of a conductor or the location of a touch attributable to a user motion.
