  • Patent number: 11401692
Abstract: A hydraulic system includes a hydraulic mechanism that includes a first and a second chamber. The hydraulic system includes a control valve fluidly connected to the first chamber and a pressure sensor that is configured to measure the fluid pressure in the first chamber. The hydraulic system includes a processing unit connected to the control valve. The processing unit is configured to control a hydraulic fluid flow rate to and from the first chamber of the hydraulic mechanism via the control valve to provide a shock absorption response. The hydraulic fluid flow rate is based at least in part on a pressure measurement received from the pressure sensor. The shock absorption response is based on a simulated hydraulic accumulator.

  • Patent number: 11384510
Abstract: A mobile hydraulic system includes a hydraulic actuator coupled to a load, and a control unit coupled to the load and/or to the hydraulic actuator. The control unit is adapted to anticipate an over-center transition of the load relative to a gravity vector prior to the over-center transition through the use of sensors configured with accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers. In some examples, the over-center transition is from an overrunning driving of the load to a passive driving of the load. In some examples, the over-center transition is from a passive driving of the load to an overrunning driving of the load. In some examples, the control unit is adapted to control change in a metered flow through one or more ports of the associated actuator to minimize and/or prevent one or more hydraulic effects of the anticipated over-center transition. In some examples, the control unit controls the metered flow by causing one or more actuators (e.g.

  • Patent number: 11339873
Abstract: A hydraulic mechanical transmission includes a first hydraulic unit having a first shaft and a second hydraulic unit having a second shaft. The second hydraulic unit is connected in hydraulic fluid communication with the first hydraulic unit by high and low pressure lines. At least one of the first and second hydraulic units has variable displacement. A mechanical torque transfer arrangement transfers torque between the first shaft and the rotatable component of the second hydraulic unit. One of the first and second hydraulic units operates as a hydraulic pump and the other of the first and second hydraulic units operates as a hydraulic motor.

  • Patent number: 11326627
Abstract: A hydraulic system (600) and method for reducing boom dynamics of a boom (30), while providing counter-balance valve protection, includes a hydraulic cylinder (110), first and second counter-balance valves (300, 400), and first and second control valves (700, 800). A net load (90) is supported by a first chamber (116, 118) of the hydraulic cylinder, and a second chamber (118, 116) of the hydraulic cylinder may receive fluctuating hydraulic fluid flow from the second control valve to produce a vibratory response (950) that counters environmental vibrations (960) on the boom. The first control valve may apply a holding pressure and thereby hold the first counter-balance valve closed and the second counter-balance valve open.

  • Patent number: 11280354
Abstract: A hydraulic system includes first and second valve assemblies connected to a common pump. The first valve assembly includes a main valve housed inside a manifold. A pressure compensator valve maintains a constant pressure drop across a variable orifice of the main valve. A pressure limiter valve is in communication with the main valve and the pressure compensator valve, and allows an actuator connected to the first valve assembly to operate independently of the second valve assembly so that fluid flow to a work port of the first valve assembly is not interrupted by operation of the second valve assembly.
