Abstract: The invention relates to a method of making for a vapor burner a tubular fuel preparing chamber which opens into a combustion chamber and is heatable to a relatively high temperature. The fuel preparing chamber is cooperable with an air supply system which supplies combustion air and is formed with ceramic tubes which are heatable to a glow temperature for effecting ignition and effecting a cleansing temperature wherein deposits on the wall of the chamber are burned to ash. The fuel preparing chamber includes a plurality of ceramic parts including first and second smaller and larger diameter tube parts with the first tube part being pushed into the inlet section of the second tube part. The chamber also includes a ceramic closure part at the outlet end of the second tube with which it has a close fit. The method involves assembling the ceramic parts and unifying them by said sintering.

Abstract: The invention relates to a changeover discharge circuit for an electronic switching circuit of the type having a semiconductor switching element in series with a DC source and an inductive load. Initiation of the discharge current of a discharge capacitor is delayed upon the switching on of the switching element until the substantial termination of the load current by a commutation choke coil and a recovery diode in shunt with the load.
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an apparatus having a burner and a heat exchanger wherein between a hollow cylinder provided with an end wall and a concentric insert there is formed an annular gap which is free from integers and in which the combustion gases flow from the burner to the outlet. The object is to provide apparatus which permits a starting phase with a pure flame and without pulsations and wherein at the same time the lower power limit can be considerably reduced. This object is achieved by providing in the end of the insert facing the end wall with an annular end wall and a central burner for gasified liquid or gaseous fuel centrally disposed in the insert. A burner having a heatable central fuel preparing chamber and a passage system for the air of combustion with a concentric mouth, and a burner tube as an extension of the insert terminates at a spacing from the end wall of the hollow cylinder.
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydrostatic control device for steering unit device which includes a metering motor and a flat slide directional valve. Slide surfaces of the directional valve are formed by the abutting end faces of an outer housing and a motor housing and between the two slide surfaces there is formed a high pressure zone. Between two end faces of the outer housing and the motor housing opposite thereto is an intermediate pressure zone of larger area which is connected between a first throttle gap associated with the high pressure zone and a second throttle gap leading to the low pressure zone. With the aid of the high pressure zone and the intermediate pressure zone equilibrium can be obtained while incurring only a minimum amount of friction.
Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for supplying a pressurized fluid to a hydraulic system. The apparatus has a diverting path in parallel with the main supply line which is designed and is operable to minimize the inherent losses associated with such a diverting path. In the unit herein the diverting path has a pressure regulating valve and constant pressure drop valve in series. A control line branches from between the two valves and a load sensing is utlized to bias the pressure regulating valve in a closing direction.
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve for volatile liquids such as an expansion valve for a refrigeration plant. Magnetic valves of this type have a plunger actuated closure member which controls a small throttle opening which functions to vaporize the cooling liquid. The valve action can be noisy and damping chambers have been provided for damping the movement of the plunger. As disclosed herein such a damping chamber is disposed in the flow path downstream from the throttle opening where a cooling vaporization occurs and the cooling vaporization is effective to minimize vaporization in the damping chamber which would otherwise reduce the effectiveness of the damping chamber.
Abstract: An electromagnetic flow meter having a magnet system with pole shoes on opposite sides of a measuring tube, a magnetic coil arrangement with a yoke for the magnetic return circuit, and two measuring electrodes between the respective pole shoes. The magnetic coil is coaxial with the measuring tube and surrounds the pole shoes and the pole shoes are connected to the yoke by radially extending webs at opposite ends of the magnetic coil.

Abstract: The invention relates to a radiator valve assembly which includes the well known adjustable throttle valve and seat therefor in combination with an insert in the downstream side thereof which has a fixed throttle passage extending axially thereof. The throttle passage has a cross section which converges on the inlet side thereof and is sufficiently long to minimize the developing of turbulence in the flow stream.

Abstract: The invention relates to a coupling for making a connection secured against relative rotational and axial displacement between a hub member and a shaft member. The shaft and hub members have engaging keys and grooves at the internal and external circumferences thereof. The hub member has a circumferential groove undercutting the keys thereof and an insert member having the same key and groove configuration as the shaft member is disposed therein. The insert member is circumferentially offset relative to the hub member so that the respective keys and grooves thereof are out of alignment. The keys of the insert and hub members are then in axially abutting engagement with the insert member serving as an anchor so that a screw connection between the shaft and the insert members allows the shaft and hub members to be drawn towards each other to form a firm and secure connection.
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic switching apparatus having a power transistor as a switching element and an RCD circuit in parallel with the CE path of the power transistor. The apparatus has an anti-saturation circuit with a diode thereof connected to the junction between the capacitor and resistor of the RCD circuit so that the anti-saturation circuit only becomes effective when the RCD capacitor has discharged the high operating voltage to below the low control voltage of the control signal generator.
Abstract: The invention relates to a dryer unit for an encapsulated refrigerant compressor unit. The capsule of the compressor unit has suction and compression nipples and an auxiliary nipple. A dead end housing unit containing a drying agent is connected to the auxiliary nipple.
Abstract: A ring and star type gear set is disclosed with recessed passages 32 that serve to communicate the fluid chambers about the line of eccentricity.

Abstract: The invention relates to measuring apparatus for a refrigeration system for detecting a liquid component in refrigerant leaving the evaporator of the system through a suction conduit associated with a heating element heating the tube wall. The measuring apparatus includes a first temperature measuring sensor in thermal contact with the suction conduit located just sufficiently away from the heating element so as to be substantially unaffected by the heating element. A second temperature measuring reference sensor is in thermal contact with the suction conduit an optimum distance downstream from said heating element to provide a reference temperature indicative of the dry temperature of the refrigerant.
Abstract: The invention relates to a thermostatic type valve for a hot water radiator. The valve has an adjustable insert for changing the throttle setting of the valve. An intermediate setting element has a spline connection with the insert to facilitate turning of the insert. An adjusting ring likewise has a spline connection with the setting element and also a spline connection with the valve housing which facilitates securing the intermediate setting element to the housing. The adjusting ring is axially moveable relative to the valve housing by reason of the spline connection therewith to permit disengagement therefrom and allow turning of the setting element and the adjustable throttle setting insert to which it is nonrotatably connected by the first referred to spline connection.
Abstract: The invention relates to a hot water heating system which includes individually operated radiators arranged in parallel. A heat exchanger and a pump supply hot water to the radiators. Control apparatus is included for reducing the on and off switching frequences. The control apparatus includes an integrator which outputs a value which is proportional to the difference between a reference temperature and the temperature at the output of the heat exchanger. The integrator value is fed to a hysteresis switch which switches the heat exchanger on and off when the integrator value reaches the opposite limits of the hysteresis switch.
Abstract: The invention relates to a rotary slide valve subassembly for a hydrostatic steering unit. The slide valve subassembly includes two concentric sleeves having near one end a plurality of circumferentially distributed axially extending slots which, in the neutral position, create a short circuit between the supply and discharge sides. The slots subdivide the corresponding sleeve sections into stays extending from the main sleeve sections. A construction is provided to avoid jamming of the sleeves by joining the stays of each sleeve section with a closed ring member and undercutting the inside diameter of the stays of the inner sleeve section to cause weakening thereof relative to the stays of the outer sleeve section.
