Abstract: A mobile hydraulic system includes a hydraulic actuator coupled to a load, and a control unit coupled to the load and/or to the hydraulic actuator. The control unit is adapted to anticipate an over-center transition of the load relative to a gravity vector prior to the over-center transition through the use of sensors configured with accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers. In some examples, the over-center transition is from an overrunning driving of the load to a passive driving of the load. In some examples, the over-center transition is from a passive driving of the load to an overrunning driving of the load. In some examples, the control unit is adapted to control change in a metered flow through one or more ports of the associated actuator to minimize and/or prevent one or more hydraulic effects of the anticipated over-center transition. In some examples, the control unit controls the metered flow by causing one or more actuators (e.g.

  • Patent number: 11499552
Abstract: A fluid working system such as a pump for displacing a working fluid such as hydraulic fluid or a motor using a working fluid is provided. The system may have a positive displacement machine which includes one or more working chamber with displacement means such as a cylinder with a reciprocating piston. There are also two or more fluid ports to allow the working fluid to flow into and out of the working chamber. The working fluid flows from one fluid port means to another either being forced to do so when pumped or moving the piston when functioning as an engine. The fluid working system has associated therewith a non-dead compliance volume of a material such as syntactic foam. This compliance volume acts to smooth any pressure fluctuations within the working fluid system.

  • Patent number: 11429074
Abstract: A device-system comprises parallel operating devices (105-107) for driving an operating quantity towards a target value, and a control system for controlling each device at least partly based on a device-specific integral term relating to a time integral of a device-specific error signal that is indicative of a deviation of the operating quantity from the target value. The control system comprises a stabilizing system that computes an arithmetic average of the device-specific integral terms and corrects the device-specific integral terms towards the computed arithmetic average. The correction of the device-specific integral terms makes it possible to avoid unwanted drifts in the device-specific integral terms in a situation where there are differences between the device-specific error signals. The devices can be peers to each other and thus redundancy is achieved because one device can be removed from or added to the device-system without actions from the other devices.
