Patents Assigned to Daniel Montgomery & Son Limited
  • Patent number: 6908013
Abstract: There is disclosed a tamper-evident device for a closure assembly adapted to be applied to a mouth of a container, for example, a neck of a bottle. There has been identified a need for an improved tamper-evident device which does not have any parts which are removed upon initial opening and which are liable to be reattached by counterfeits or the like. Accordingly the present invention provides a tamper-evident device comprising a sleeve member which comprises a first portion associated with a second portion by a frangible portion therebetween, and wherein said first portion is adapted to be applied to a mouth and neck portion of a container, and said second portion is associated with a container closure member, and wherein an initial container opening operation causes said frangible portion to fracture or break such that when the container is reclosed said first and second portions are located in a spaced apart relationship to one another.

  • Patent number: 5971179
Abstract: The invention relates to a non-refilling device for insertion in the neck portion (3) of a container for liquids for example, fine spirits, the device comprising a sleeve member (4) adapted to be a secure fit within the neck portion (3), a one-way valve arrangement (6, 8), a pouring member (10) and a closure member (16, 20). While the device is being applied to the neck portion of the filled container, all the above components are maintained in an assembled condition by engagable members (28, 32) on the closure member (16) and the pouring member (10). When the container is opened normally, the action of unscrewing the closure member (16, 20) is adequate to overcome the action of the engagable members (28, 32) so that the container may be opened and resealed in a conventional manner.

  • Patent number: 4067472
Abstract: A combined anti-refilling and pouring device for use in association with a bottle incorporates a tubular casing having at one end a tubular extension formed with inwardly directed radial fins and an annular flange presenting a center hole projecting inwardly beyond the fins at the outer end of the extension. A ring member having radially disposed fins extending axially from one end face of the ring is located within the tubular casing with the fins on the ring member terminating close to the fins in the tubular extension. A movable valve member is trapped within the axial passage defined by the tips of the radial fins in the tubular extension between the fins on the ring member and the annular flange, the valve member being free to engage the center hole and close it, and a ring of deformable material having a maximum diameter greater than the internal diameter of the neck of a bottle into which the device is to be fitted encircles the tubular casing.
