Abstract: The invention relates to a microencapsulated oil or fat product, wherein at least one oil or fat is dispersed in the matrix material as particles or drops having an average diameter of less than or equal to 2 &mgr;m, the oil or fat containing at least 10% by weight of highly unsaturated fatty acid, preferably &ohgr;-3 and &ohgr;-6 fatty acids, the level of free fatty acids being below 5.0% by weight and preferably below about 0.5% by weight, and the matrix material consisting of caseinate and optionally at least one carbohydrate.

Abstract: A powdered water-dispersible carotenoid preparation in the form of discrete carotenoid microparticles is prepared by milling a carotenoid in an aqueous medium in the presence of a hydrocolloid so as to form a suspension, heating the suspension thus formed to a sufficiently high temperature to cause a total or partial melting of the carotenoid and cooling, finely dividing and drying the suspension to form a powder.

Abstract: A process for producing hydrophobic or aerophobic solids having a particle size not exceeding 10 .mu.m, which solids can be dispersed in water in the form of discrete microparticles. In the process the solids are milled in an aqueous medium in the presence of a hydrocolloid to obtain a suspension containing suspended particles having an average particle size not exceeding 10 .mu.m. The suspension is then finely divided and dried to form a powder.

Abstract: A photoactivator dye composition includes microcapsules of a solid dispersion of a water-soluble photoactivator dye in an encapsulating material that is quickly soluble in water. In a method of preparing such a photoactivator dye composition, the photoactivator dye is dissolved in an aqueous medium, the solution thus obtained is mixed with an aqueous solution of the encapsulating material, the mixture thus obtained is converted into droplets, and the moisture content of these droplets is reduced to form a solid solution. The photoactivator dye composition may advantageously be used in a detergent composition which additionally includes a surfactant and conventional detergent ingredients.

Abstract: A method of preparing powdered, free-flowing tocopheryl succinate having a high bulk density comprising melting a mixture of tocopheryl succinate and wax, spraying the melt in a spraying zone containing a cloud of a powdering agent consisting of fine tocopheryl succinate and an additional powdering agent, and maintaining the product formed in a fluidized state by introducing cooling air until the tocopheryl succinate particles have hardened, and separating the product formed into a product fraction and a fine fraction, and recyclying the fine fraction to the spraying zone.
