  • Patent number: 7079927
Abstract: An operation management system includes a sensor section for detecting behavior of a vehicle, a recorder section for recording the behavior detected by the sensor section on a memory card, and a behavior analyzer for setting a condition pattern for determining the behavior of vehicle as dangerous behavior. The recorder section compares a condition pattern for recognizing the behavior of a vehicle as dangerous behavior with the behavior actually detected by the sensor section, and records only information relating to behavior compatible with the condition pattern on the memory card by dangerous behavior, and statistically analyzes it using the behavior analyzer.

  • Patent number: 6466831
Abstract: A three-dimensional data input device for a computer having a display screen includes a ball rotatably provided in a device body, and sensors for detecting rotation magnitudes of the ball along two axes on a plane and outputting displacement signals indicative of the detected rotation magnitudes, respectively. The device further includes a gyro for detecting an angular velocity of the device body about an axis extending at a given angle relative to the foregoing plane and outputting an angular velocity signal indicative of the detected angular velocity. The device further includes switches for outputting a selection signal in response to operation of at least one of selection buttons. The device derives displacement data based on the foregoing displacement signals and angular data based on the foregoing angular velocity signal and outputs the displacement data, the angular data and the selection signal to the computer.

  • Patent number: 6438472
Abstract: An operation control system includes a data recorder for recording data representing the features of behavior of a vehicle in a memory card and an operation control assisting apparatus for analyzing the driving tendency of the vehicle. The operation control assisting apparatus reads measurement data out of the memory card, classifies the measurement data into a set of data about the low-speed range, a set of data about the intermediate-speed range, and a set of data about the high-speed range, extracts behavior features in each speed range from the classified measurement data, and creates judgment information for judging the driving tendency by a driver of the vehicle in an ex post facto way based on the results of the extract.

  • Patent number: 6067488
Abstract: In a driving recorder, angular velocity data and acceleration data of a vehicle are sequentially measured and stored into a memory along with time information, thereby updating the data stored in the memory in sequence. If a shock due to crash or the like occurs at the vehicle, a given time period is set for further data storage. When the time is up, the data storage into the memory is stopped. Thus, the memory holds at least the angular velocity data and the acceleration data for the set time period after detection of the occurrence of shock and for a given time period before detection of the occurrence of shock. Upon analysis, a travel analyzer is connected to the driving recorder for reading out the data stored in the memory. Based on the read-out data, the travel analyzer produces data representing a travel history of the vehicle and visually expresses such travel history data.

  • Patent number: 5828987
Abstract: A movement detecting device capable of accurately measuring the position, the speed and the azimuth of a moving object, such as a vehicle, by using GPS signals without applying a particular alteration to the moving object, is purposed. For realizing it, in an arithmetic control section 3, especially in a speed arithmetic processing section 41, an azimuth arithmetic processing section 42 and a position arithmetic processing section 43, data about relationship between the absolute speed, etc. based on the GPS signals and the relative speed, etc. based on an inertia sensor 5 are derived when the GPS signals are normally received, and data about the actual speed and azimuth of the moving object are derived using the foregoing data about the relationship and the relative speed, etc. when the GPS signals are not received.
