    Abstract: An improved device for relaying information, such as quantity transferred, from inside the explosive environment of a flammable liquids pump to a remote location. A mechanical record of the information is converted to electrical pulses by light emitting diode and light sensitive transistor. A barrier, through which the pulses are transferred out of the explosive environment, contains resistors which prevent an explosive spark.
