Patent number: 5335407Abstract: A support hinge is installed between the elevation and azimuth housings of the antenna pedestal. A jack is installed between these same housings at a location opposite to that at which the hinge is located. The elevation housing is then raised by means of the jack so that it pivotally moves upwardly on the hinge. A winch is installed on the support hinge so that it is capable of lateral pivotal motion. A bearing adapter having a plurality of arms extending therefrom is suspended from the winch and lowered until it is in contact with the bearing. Bolts are then used to join each of the arms to a threaded portion of the bearing. The bearing is then lifted out of the azimuth housing, swung pivotally away from such housing and lowered from the antenna pedestal. A new bearing is installed by reversing the above indicated procedure.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 1993Date of Patent: August 9, 1994Assignee: Datron Systems, Inc.Inventor: Neil H. Verkerk

Patent number: 4693629Abstract: A fastener for joining together a plurality of panel members at their corners provides tight, aligned joinder between the panels, yet can be rapidly disconnected to facilitate the transportation of the panels. The fastener includes a central hub portion against which the corner portions of the panels to be joined together abut in mating relationship; the corner portions of such panels being preformed to the shape of the fastener central portion to enable such mating engagement. Extending from one end of the central portion is an overlapping member which fits flush against one surface of the panels to be joined while extending from the opposite end of the central portion is a second member which is in opposing relationship to the opposite surface of such panels. Clamping members attached to the second member have arms which extend towards each other at convergent angles.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1985Date of Patent: September 15, 1987Assignee: Datron Systems, Inc.Inventor: Robert F. Patent number: 4204214Abstract: A large dish member for use as a solar collector, radar antenna or the like is mounted on a tripod structure on a first set of bearings which permit rotation about a polar or azimuth axis, and a second set of bearings which permit rotation about an elevation axis. Drive about the elevation axis is achieved by means of a linear actuator with elevation position being sensed by means of a position transducer such as a selsyn. Drive about the polar or azimuth axis is achieved by means of two motors, one for slow drive, the other for fast drive, both of these motors being coupled through a timing belt drive and worm gear reducer to a drive sprocket. The drive sprocket engages a chain which is welded to the rim of an arcuate spoked drive member in the form of a wheel segment, which is fixedly attached to the dish member and mounted for rotation on the support structure. A position selsyn is provided to sense azimuthal or polar position.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 1978Date of Patent: May 20, 1980Assignee: Datron Systems, Inc.Inventor: Charles J. Fassnacht

Patent number: 4083024Abstract: A miniature relay having a large number of contacts is housed in a dual in-line plug compatible with integrated circuitry and the like. A pair of operating coils are disposed upon a central cylindrical core upon which an armature turns, said armature being positioned between the two operating coils. The coils generate a magnetic flux in opposite directions through the core which flux combines in the armature for rotating the armature against a frame in magnetic circuit with the core.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1976Date of Patent: April 4, 1978Assignee: Datron Systems, Inc.Inventor: Jack T. Patent number: 3931742Abstract: A gyroscope rotor is rotated to a very high speed when a pawl is moved to release a ratchet coupled to a coil spring drive and keyed to a drive shaft. The coil spring drive then drives the rotor at a multiplied rate of speed through an arbor, planetary pinions revolved by the arbor and meshing with a fixed ring gear, a sun gear keyed to a drive shaft, the drive shaft, and hooking claw clutch teeth on the drive shaft and the rotor. When the spring reaches an unwound condition, the rotor overruns the drive shaft, the clutch teeth on the rotor cam the drive shaft axially away from the rotor, and a compression spring moves the drive shaft and a pilot pin thereon to retracted positions completely out of engagement with the rotor. A keeper bar on the pawl normally overhangs the ratchet to hold the drive shaft in clutching engagement with the rotor, and, when the pawl is released, it moves the keeper bar to a retracted position permitting axial movement of the drive shaft.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1973Date of Patent: January 13, 1976Assignee: Datron Systems, Inc.Inventor: Orie W.
