  • Patent number: 5060704
Abstract: Suction transfer assembly for a medicament liquid, formed of a vial having a chamber filled with the liquid and an open end closed by a penetrable stopper on which the vial is slidable longitudinally, and an adapter having a front end with a nozzle lockably connectable to a mechanical probe-containing counterpart nozzle of a suction device, e.g. a syringe, a rear end with a hollow needle, and an internal flow path therebetween. The adapter rear end is insertable into the vial open end and fastenable to the stopper for penetrating the stopper by the needle. The adapter front end has a mechanical probe-openable and self-closing check valve in the flow path adjacent the nozzle so that on locking the counterpart nozzle thereto, its probe opens the valve for suction transfer of liquid from the vial to the device and simultaneous compensating vial movement relative to the stopper under external atmospheric pressure to reduce the chamber volume by an amount generally equal to the liquid transferred.

  • Patent number: 5019052
Abstract: Bipartite injector device formed of an outer shell having a front closed end with an external spout and an internal seat communicating by a bore, and a rear open end to receive the stoppered end of a medicament vial, and an inner sleeve having a front end for cantilever connection to the shell closed end, and a rear free end with a socket connectable to the vial stopper, plus a hollow needle having a front collar flange mountable via the sleeve to communicate with the bore at the seat and to dispose its rear pointed end in the socket to penetrate the stopper to connect the vial with the bore and spout. A circular rim on the sleeve exterior is compressed through a circular ring to reach a circular groove on the shell interior for snap fit cantilever locking therewith to provide a fluid tight coaxial and concentric arrangement of parts for flow between the vial and spout.

  • Patent number: 4994029
Abstract: Syringe mixer and injector device formed of an injector and an adaptor having opposed interconnectable nozzles, e.g. with mating luer lock connectors, on their facing ends and sockets in their remote ends. Each of the injector and adapter has a protected fluid pathway flow connecting its nozzle and socket, a guideway to receive at its remote end for movement thereon a medicament vial when the vial stopper is connected to its socket, and a recessed short tubular spike forming the pathway portion in its socket and protruding into the socket and terminating inwardly from its remote end sufficiently to protect the spike from unintended human contact and arranged to penetrate the stopper thereat to flow connect its vial with its pathway in protected condition. After charging the injector connected vial with the contents of the adapter connected vial, e.g.
