  • Patent number: 9885209
Abstract: A light-control assembly including a modular beam with a plurality of adjacent circular bores separated by web portions, and a series of light-controlling members with laterally compliant edge structures mounted in the beam so that the edge structures accommodate the webs between the bores when the light-controlling members are closed to achieve enhanced, blackout or near blackout light-blocking along the edges of the light-controlling members.

  • Publication number: 20140174008
Abstract: A panel unit with interlocked first and second engagement members each having panel-receiving cavities for receiving and retaining edge portions of panels, two pairs of opposed transparent or translucent panels mounted in the cavities of the first and second engagement members, in which the panel units are subject to positive and negative forces which may cause the engagement members to pivot with respect to each other and the first engagement member has catch rails for engaging sidewalls defining an interlock cavity in the second engagement member to limit the pivoting movement of the engagement members.

  • Patent number: 5299370
Abstract: An excavation apparatus includes a tank partitioned into two isolated chambers. One of the chambers is adapted to hold fresh water and communicates with a flexible wand to be carried by operating personnel. The other chamber is adapted to hold excavated material and communicates with a flexible hose also to be carried by operating personnel. A single, positive displacement vacuum pump driven by a motor is selectively connectable to one or both chambers through a series of valves and hoses. Depending on the valve positions, either the intake or exhaust port of the vacuum pump is in communication with one or both the chambers. The vacuum pump can therefore by used to fill the front chamber with fresh water as well as to pressurize the front chamber so that the water held therein can be discharged through the wand under pressure sufficient to dislodge earth at the excavation site. The vacuum pump can then be used to draw the dislodged earth and discharged water into the other chamber.

  • Patent number: 5195569
Abstract: A fenestration control includes a single loop cord in association with guide members and a drive pulley built into a generally channel-shaped framework and is specifically designed for use with pleated or cell-type shades. The entire shade assembly is capable of being removably installed within window openings and the like and may be operated manually, or by single or dual motor drives depending upon the size and load requirements of the shade.

  • Patent number: 5170108
Abstract: A motor controller for reversibly driving a member to be driven along a predetermined path of travel is capable of sensing the speed of the member to be driven and to compare with a predetermined speed level and to adjust the motor drive until the rate of advancement of the driven member corresponds with the predetermined speed level. The motor drive means is completely deactivated if the actual speed should not reach a predetermined start-up threshold within a selected time interval after the motor is initially turned on or should drop beneath the stay-on threshold level which is set beneath the desired speed. The motor drive can also be regulated to run at different reduced or normal speed settings depending upon its intended application.
