  • Patent number: 4100917
Abstract: A whirlpool type hydrotherapy unit includes a centrifugal pump which circulates water in a tub. The pump has a pair of outlets, one of which is a primary outlet immersed in the water to provide a whirlpool effect. A vibrating spray head accessory may be attached to a secondary outlet to provide a water spray and accompanying massage. A large volume of air is induced by aspiration to mix in with the water that discharges into the tub from the primary outlet. The pump is driven by a battery powered D. C. motor which is controlled as to speed and time of operation by solid state controls. Special circuitry also prevents operation of the motor when the battery charger is coupled to an A.C. power supply or when the voltage of the battery falls below a specified value.

  • Patent number: 3942520
Abstract: A foot massager has a hollow casing that includes a top panel for accommodating the feet of the user. A vibrator motor is mounted against the underside of the top panel by a bent metal strap having opposite ends that are connected to bosses projecting from the top panel. Lugs extending from the top panel prevent lateral movement of the motor. An electrically restive heating sheet is adhesively attached to the top panel and is further secured thereto by a pair of metal bands and a pair of clips.

  • Patent number: 3934597
Abstract: A hair curling instrument for steam treating hair wound thereon by dispensing steam through a plurality of steam passage holes includes means for inhibiting the escape of liquid through the holes. The device comprises a handle having a generally cylindrical steam tube attached thereto, and a spring biased, thumb-operated clamp mounted on the steam tube for securing the hair on the tube for curling. The steam tube includes an outer shell having a cylindrical heating tube of a smaller diameter coaxially positioned therewithin. An annular steam chamber defined between the outer shell and the heating tube receives liquid from a resilient, liquid injecting syringe which is removably and sealably attached to the opposite end of the steam tube. The syringe comprises a symmetrical squeeze bulb which is tapered to conform to the profile of the steam tube and an interconnected stem portion.
