Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing color adjustments on video being captured is described. In one embodiment, a current color adjustment request is generated in response to user input. The current color adjustment parameter value for the color adjustment request is cached. Then a message is posted to video capture hardware to stop the capture process. The color is adjusted after the capture process has been stopped using the color adjustment parameter values associated with the color adjustment request and any color adjustment requests that occur while waiting for the capture process to stop.
