Abstract: A vending machine system having the advantages of field configurability to achieve satisfying customers' product variety demands at a given vending sales location is disclosed. In general, a plurality of low cost, “dumb” application-specific slaved vending modules may be attached to and controlled by a host vending module possessing a sophisticated electronic control capability, the purpose of said system being to economically address the storage, sale and delivery of an expansive variety of vended goods while utilizing the least available space and financial resources needed to achieve this goal.
