Abstract: Chairs constructed of fiberboard with an easily assembled core structure, reinforced arms, and an outer casing that economically consumes raw sheeting material by minimizing stamping waste. The chairs include a casing, a core structure, and a body panel. The core is built from aligned L-shaped members and transverse struts that mutually connect by interfitting slots. The casing is built from a rectangular tube. The tube has side sections, a front section and a rear section. For the versions with arms, the side sections carry flaps that reinforce the arm areas. For the versions without arms, the side sections carry flaps that fold over the L-shaped members. The body panel resides over the back support area and the seat support area of the L-shaped members and provides a uniformly smooth surface. The chairs may be combined or aligned in series to form a sectional couch.
Abstract: A wheel suspension including a wheel support pivotally attached to a vehicle frame at two, laterally-spaced locations, the wheel support being pivotable between uppermost and lowermost positions, a wheel rotatably mounted to the wheel support, a leaf spring mounted between the vehicle frame and the wheel support to bias the wheel support to a position intermediate the uppermost, and lowermost positions, and a second biasing device, such as an air bag or coil spring, mounted outside of the vehicle frame and biasing the wheel support to an intermediate position.
Abstract: A wheel suspension system is disclosed which includes a wheel support member pivotally mounted to a vehicle frame, a wheel rotatably mounted to the support member on a stub axle, and an airbag positioned between the wheel support member and the vehicle frame to bias the support member into an intermediate position between a lowermost position and an uppermost position, the rotational axis of the wheel being positioned at or above the cargo floor of the vehicle at least when the wheel support member is in the uppermost position. The suspension system provides a compact lateral profile and also aligns the pivot axis and biasing airbag on a common side of the wheel to provide a compact profile along the length of the vehicle.
