Publication number: 20110186488Abstract: A document stacking module comprises a rotatably mounted stacking wheel (10) having at least one generally radially outwardly extending slot (14-16) which can be aligned with a document delivery position so as to receive a document. The wheel (10) is rotatable to a stacking position where the wheel cooperates with a stripper member (19) to extract a document from the slot whereby the document is stacked at the stacking position. A motor rotates the stacking wheel (10). A control system controls operation of the motor. The outer surface of part (22) of the stacking wheel (10) is shaped so that, when said part is presented to the document delivery position, the document fed through the document delivery position towards the stacking wheel engages the shaped part of the outer surface of the stacking wheel and is diverted away from the stacking wheel.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 11, 2007Publication date: August 4, 2011Applicant: De La Rue Cash Systems ABInventor: Anders Bengt Verner Nordin

Patent number: 7748701Abstract: A method and an arrangement for feeding out end sheets from a stack of sheets comprises that a driver acting against the end sheet of the stack (1) first displaces the end sheet in the plane thereof toward a support for elastic bulging of the end sheet, and then displaces the buckled end sheet away from the support, to a separating arrangement for the separation of sheets that unintentionally are accompanying the end sheet (21) fed out. The driver being carried by a spring arrangement, which offers an increasing support force to the driver upon the advancement of the stack by means of a pusher acting against the rear end of the stack. A sensor detects the displacement position of the driver, and activates the driver for a sheet-outfeed operation when the distance sensor detects a displacement position of the driver corresponding to a predetermined abutment force of the driver against the end sheet. Between the sheet-outfeed operations, the pusher is unloaded.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2006Date of Patent: July 6, 2010Assignee: De La Rue Cash Systems ABInventors: Lars Gustafsson, Jörgen Sundmark

Publication number: 20030030210Abstract: A document delivery device comprises a carriage (2) which is movable along a path system comprising a first path (10) which extends between a document receiving station for the carriage and a document delivery station for the carriage, and a second path (20) which is connected to the first path and defines an end position (22) for dumping of documents from the carriage. On each side the carriage has wheels (42) which are received in and run in guide tracks (43) on opposite sides of the path. The device also comprises a document holder (3) which is carried by the carriage (2), and means (91, 92) for displacing the document holder (3) in relation to the carriage at the document delivery station. The carriage carries a magnet (70, 71), and the device comprises one or more hall-element(s) in the movement path for the magnet, for detection of the position of the magnet (70, 71) along the path.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 9, 2001Publication date: February 13, 2003Applicant: De La Rue Cash Systems ABInventors: Anders Nordin, Jorgen Andersson

Patent number: 6439564Abstract: An arrangement for feeding documents piecemeal from a document bundle (9) comprises a banknote separator (200) which includes two mutually biased rollers (4,6) that are driven by a drive motor (1) that also drives a dispensing roller (3) which functions to dispense documents from the bundle. The rollers (4,6) of the roll pair are rotationally coupled together via a freewheeling hub. The second roller (6) does not rotate during dispensing of a document. Upon completion of a dispensing operation, the drive direction of the motor (1) is reversed, so as to bring the second roller (6) to a new angular position.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2001Date of Patent: August 27, 2002Assignee: De la Rue Cash Systems ABInventors: Jorgen Andersson, Teru Horpu, Anders Nordin

Patent number: 6152309Abstract: A conveying arrangement includes a path selector including a selector slide that is selectively positionable at first and second positions, thereby connecting a first conveyor path with a first further conveyor path or a second further conveyor path. The selector slide is actuated by a guide arm that moves the slide from the first position to the second position, and vice versa. The selector slide is locked firmly in at least one of the positions by a locking arm that is moved to and from a locking position by the guide arm. The selector slide may have a fixed pin that interacts with a first recess or aperture formed in the locking arm, and the recess may have first and second pin-receiving end positions corresponding to the first and second positions of the selector slide. The guide arm may be pivotally mounted and have a second recess or aperture that actuates the fixed pin and a locking-arm actuating guide pin that interacts with a camming surface on the locking arm.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1998Date of Patent: November 28, 2000Assignee: De La Rue Cash Systems ABInventors: John Gerwyn Price, Lars Svensson

Patent number: 6086065Abstract: An arrangement for feeding sheets from a sheet store to either one of a plurality of stations includes a movable carriage which receives sheets fed from the store and which has driving cogwheels for coaction with a fixed cog railway outside the carriage. The fixed cog railway includes a path selection slide that includes cog segments that can fit into the cog railway. The selector slide can be switched to either one of two possible positions by means of a processor-controlled, motor-driven arm.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1998Date of Patent: July 11, 2000Assignee: De La Rue Cash Systems ABInventor: Lars Svensson
