    Abstract: This invention is directed to a protector for a single or front chain sprocket of a bicycle. The sprocket assembly is mounted on a pedal shaft and is non-rotatably coupled with a sprocket-side pedal. The protector comprises a disc which is adapted to be fixed by a fixing mechanism with respect to the pedal shaft and having a diameter which is sufficient for preventing soiling or damaging clothing or body portions of the user of the bicycle.
