Abstract: A device and method for levelling an open asphalt structure in hydraulic engineering works, including a device which is provided at the rear with a driven, substantially smooth roller as propelling element and provided at the front with one or more driven levelling shafts provided with radially placed levelling blades. The levelling shafts are provided on the outer ends with a height-adjustable asymmetrical support element, on one side a rotating element and on the other a sliding element. The method for levelling an open asphalt structure in hydraulic engineering works by means of the described device, wherein adjacent asphalt strips are laid by providing the sliding support element on an already asphalted strip and providing the rotating element on the surface still to be asphalted.
