  • Patent number: 10172276
Abstract: An implement frame having a carriage frame for coupling to a towing vehicle and wheels to support the frame for movement over a ground surface. A pivot frame is rotationally mounted to the carriage frame and a lift assembly is coupled to the pivot frame via a shift assembly. A tool bar is mounted to the lift assembly. The shift assembly moves the tool bar forward as it is moved from the field use position to the transport position. The wheels are mounted to swing arms to move the wheels inward for a narrow transport position. All motion is accomplished through actuators, such as hydraulic cylinders, to automate the process making it quick and easy.

  • Patent number: 8831292
Abstract: An arrangement for the optical evaluation of harvested crop in a harvesting machine includes a camera located for taking images of threshed out crop elements (grain and material other than grain) being conveyed within a channel of the machine. An electronic image processing system receives the images and identifies individual objects in the images, these objects being classified into predetermined object classes by way of comparing at least one of color, contour or texture features of the individual objects and corresponding characteristics of reference objects filed in a data bank. The processing system then determines the absolute or relative numbers or areas of the individual objects assigned to the respective object classes.

  • Patent number: 6779328
Abstract: An implement that substantially reduces the likelihood of material being blown out from the underside thereof is provided. To decrease this likelihood, the implement is constructed with a lip that extends outwardly from the front edge of its center chamber. Further provided is an adjustable extension to the lip which may be made part of the implement at the option of the operator. In providing an implement with both the lip and its extension, an operator is permitted to insure against the possibility of vegetation and debris leaving the underside of the deck at the front of the center chamber. Consequently, the overall appearance of one's grounds may be greatly enhanced.

  • Patent number: 6729459
Abstract: A PTO clutch of an agricultural vehicle connects an input driveline to an output driveline for coupling to an attached implement. A method and system for controlling the PTO clutch includes sensors for sensing rotational speeds on both sides of the clutch. Clutch slip is determined from the sensed speeds. A controller receives an actual slip signal and a desired slip signal and controls pressure in the clutch to maintain a constant desired clutch slip in order to avoid overload conditions. The torque transmitted by the clutch is determined as a function of the slip in the clutch and the clutch pressure, and a signal representing this torque is displayed to an operator.

  • Publication number: 20040064978
Abstract: A work vehicle comprises an articulated frame having a first frame segment and a second frame segment that are pivotally coupled to one another by a vertical pivot. An actuator is coupled to the frame segments for articulating the segments relative to one another to steer the vehicle. Each frame segment is provided with ground engaging wheels which support the respective frame segments. A work implement in the form of a backhoe is mounted to the second frame segment. A stabilizer comprising two stabilizer arms is mounted to the first frame segment. The stabilizer arms have a work position and a transport position. In its work position the stabilizer arms are lowered and the ground engaging wheels of the second frame segment are lifted off the ground. The actuator for steering the vehicle can then be used to pivot the backhoe about a vertical axis defined by the vertical pivot.

  • Publication number: 20040056448
Abstract: A vehicle drawbar support assembly for supporting a drawbar pivotally coupled to a frame of the vehicle includes a drawbar support attached to the frame. The support engages and supports an end of the drawbar. A pair of bushing members are mounted to the support on opposite sides of the drawbar. The bushing members are engageable with the drawbar to limit sideways movement of the drawbar. Each bushing has a multiple-sided outer surface, and each bushing has a bore extending therethrough along a bore axis which is offset from a central axis of the bushing. Each bushing is rotatable about the bore axis so that different selected sides are engageable with the drawbar. A pin couples each bushing to the support and is received by the bore of the respective bushing.

  • Publication number: 20030216212
Abstract: A tractor has an interaxle differential which transmits torque from an engine driven transmission to a front axle and to a rear axle. A differential includes a planetary gear set coupled to a modulating clutch. The modulating clutch is coupled between a pair of the planetary gear elements, and is used to bring the front to rear speed differential within desired limits. A control system for controlling the clutch includes a steering angle sensor, a front wheel speed sensor and a rear wheel speed sensor. From these sensors the control system determines a desired maximum speed difference between the front and rear wheels, and controls the differential to keep the front to rear speed ratio within the desired limit.

  • Patent number: 6220270
Abstract: An improved the velocity fuse valve controls communication between first and second brake valves and first and second brake lines. The velocity fuse valve includes a valve housing having a valve bore which slidably receives a valve spool. The spool moves in response to pressure in first and second pilot chambers, each communicated with a corresponding first and second outlet. The first pilot chamber is communicated with the first outlet via a first dashpot passage and a first orifice, and the second pilot chamber is communicated with the second outlet via a second dashpot passage and a second orifice. The orifices reduce or control how fast the spool will move in response to the pressure differential between the pilot chambers.

  • Patent number: 5471826
Abstract: A pivoting moistener column for a cotton harvester having a locking feature which operates without tools which automatically releases the column for swinging toward an access position when a service door is opened and which retains the column securely in the operating position when the service door is closed. Preferably the locking feature includes a pair of mating upright flanges, one connected to the service door near a service door pivot and the other connected to the moistener column opposite a moistener column pivot. The column is located near an outer wall of the harvester row unit housing and is substantially outside of the housing when in the service position. A fluid distribution system mounted on the column is supported outside of the housing in both the operating and service positions. Panel structure on the column forms a relatively smooth, continuous barrier with the service door for good cotton/cotton plant flow past the column.
