Abstract: A method of isolating 1-?N.sup.2 -((S)-ethoxycarbonyl)-3-phenylpropyl)-N.sup.6 -trifluoroacetyl!-L-lysyl-L-proline (lisinopril (TFA) ethyl ester, LPE). The solvent or solvent mixture used for the extraction is also a main constituent of the solvent or solvent mixture from which the crystallization takes place. High yield as well as good purity of the end product are obtained, without distillation. 1-?N.sup.2 -((S)-ethoxycarbonyl)-3-phenylpropyl)-N.sup.6 -trifluoroacetyl!-L-lysyl-L-proline (lisinopril (TFA) ethyl ester, LPE) is described as a precursor for producing an ACE inhibitor.

Abstract: A method for chlorine-free bleaching of denim textile material composed of warp yarn which is dyed with at least one of (a) indigo dye and at least one sulfur dye, and (b) at least one derivative of indigo dye and at least one sulfur dye, and weft yarn which is undyed and substantially white and which continues to be substantially white after bleaching to provide a denim textile material having a stylish gray cast.
Abstract: A composition which is capable of releasing acrolein and is easy to handle contains (i) an acetal of acrolein with a C.sub.1-6 alcohol with 1 to 4 hydroxyl groups and (ii) an acid soluble therein and chemically compatible with a pK.sub.s value of less than 4 and (iii) is anhydrous. A preferred composition contains 2-vinyl-1,3-dioxolane as acetal, anhydrous oxalic acid, fumaric acid or maleic acid or a mixture of mono- and di(C.sub.1 - to C.sub.3 -)alkyl phosphate as acid and, in addition, a non-ionic surfactant. The acrolein is released at the site of use upon contact with for example water for the purpose of combatting microbial, vegetable and animal pests.
