  • Patent number: 8716370
Abstract: A roof sloping compound for creating an auxiliary slope over a wide variety of roof membranes and substrates. The compound includes a dry mixture of aggregate, cement and a redispersible dry polymer adapted to be mixed with water to define a substantially self-leveling consistency enabling the compound to be readily screeded into place in a desired thickness. The aggregate comprises dolomite or limestone and the redispersible dry polymer can comprise a binder based on a copolymer of ethylene vinyl acetate. In a lightweight embodiment of the compound, the aggregate includes lightweight fillers comprising perlite and low density glass granules and a superplasticizer is added to the dry mixture to reduce water demand.

  • Patent number: 5728976
Abstract: A reclosable cover for converting a two-piece electrical wire and cable duct system into a one-piece reclosable duct. The cover is fabricated from a dual-durometer plastic co-extrusion having a flexible hinge portion extruded of a resilient lower durometer plastic material. A clip assembly formed along one edge of the cover includes a modified U-shaped channel to receive and clamp the top end of a duct channel sidewall. Flexible fins are provided within this channel to further locate and retain the duct cover. A generally V-shaped hinge support member and dual ridges provide enhanced hinge integrity and an interference engagement therebetween to provide a cover `remain-open` function. The clip assembly and support member share common elements to thereby improve on the space and cost efficiency of the duct cover.

  • Patent number: 5326055
Abstract: A universal plastic siding clip for attaching cables and wires to the outside of a building. The siding clip includes cooperating cable retention mechanisms for both horizontal cable spans and vertical cable drops thereby permitting the use of a single fastener for either or both types of cable runs. The retention mechanisms are spaced to avoid cable interference where both cable types are utilized and, further, to position horizontal cables closer to the wall surface thus making use of the intrinsic protection offered by overlapping siding planks while the vertical runs are spaced sufficiently outwardly from the wall surface to avoid interference with such overlapping planks. Cable recesses are provided to permit multiple and widely varying cable cross-sections and diameters in a single clip model. Further, the clip may be injection molded using simplified tooling without movable core members, side actions and similar apparatus that otherwise increases manufacturing costs.

  • Patent number: 5235136
Abstract: A one-piece reclosable ducting system for electrical wiring or the like. The duct system includes an elongated channel and a mating channel cover. The channel and channel cover are formed as integral members in a dual-durometer plastics co-extrusion process. More specifically, the channel and channel cover are maintained in operative relationship along respective first edges by a flexible plastic hinge, again, co-extruded with the channel and cover. The flexible plastic hinge permits repeated access and closure of the channel without hinge fatigue. A cantilever tension arm or support beam is integrally formed in the ducting system and extends from the channel to bias and retain the channel cover in proper orientation thereby assuring latching of the cover while simultaneously maintaining overall ducting system structural integrity.

  • Patent number: 5221013
Abstract: An add-on shelf for athletic or school lockers having hinged first and second planar shelf members. The edge of the first shelf member is hingedly affixed along the length of the second shelf member, the precise hinge point being adjustable to accommodate differing width lockers. Tabs on the first shelf member engage slots on the second shelf member to form the hinge. A plurality of slots are provided along the second shelf member to facilitate the above-noted width adjustment. Releasable latch means lock the shelf members is fixed planar orientation. Rubber abutment feet are provided along the outside edges of the shelf members to engage the locker walls. The shelf is installed by forming an obtuse angle between the shelf members, placing the shelf assembly into the locker, then, forcing the angle open until the shelf members are in the 180 degree planar locked position.

  • Patent number: 4951362
Abstract: An elongate plastic bag clamp or cable tie defined by a main strap portion, said strap having a plurality of teeth at a tip end thereof and a low profile strap engaging and locking head integrally formed at the other end thereof. The teeth are evenly spaced and oriented perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the strap. Further, the teeth are contoured, having a greater height along the center region thereof, to facilitate camming and locking engagement with the head. The head includes a pair of sidewalls extending from the strap and a plurality of semi-flexible retention bars rigidly affixed to, and spanning between, the sidewalls. Each retention bar is deformable in its center region under the camming influence of the strap teeth thereby to permit the passage and locking thereof.

  • Patent number: 4883306
Abstract: A deck for a mobile home is supported on the undercarriage of the mobile home to roll in and out between a retracted position in which the deck is wholly located beneath the mobile home and an extended position in which the deck extends laterally from the mobile home. Channels secured to the frame of the mobile home receive wheels on opposite sides of the deck. The deck has fold up rollers on its leading end which roll along the ground and elevate the deck above the ground. Each roller is carried on a leg which is adjustable in its length.

  • Patent number: 4635886
Abstract: An integral plastic clip for retaining flat wire or ribbon cables defining a generally rectangular enclosure. The enclosure includes a planar base member adapted to be mounted to a surface and a strap member extending from the base member and forming the top and two side walls of the rectangular enclosure. The strap is integrally formed onto the base at one end and includes a releasable latch arrangement at its other end to engage the base at that second end thereby completing the rectangular enclosure. Primary and secondary curved and tapered cantilever arms extend inwardly from the top wall. The cantilever arms are provided with contoured tips to facilitate sliding movement of arms during latching engagement of the flat wire bundles.
