Abstract: The invention relates to a trolley bus head comprising a moving cradle receiving a replaceable wiper for transmitting electrical current to a cable carried by the trolley pole. In accordance with the invention the cradle (6) comprises a main body (8) and a moving portion (13) which is latchable against said main body, with a spring member (23) pressing the replaceable wiper (10) against a support and contact face of the main body when said moving portion is in its latched position. The invention is applicable to providing heads for trolley buses or similar vehicles which are powered from an overhead conductor.
Abstract: The electrical connection device is constituted by a sliding system comprising at least one conductive pin (5) fixed on one rigid bar (2) and at least one associated pluggable connector (6) fixed on another rigid bar (2'), said sliding system simultaneously providing electrical continuity between said bars on either side of said expansion joint regardless of their relative longitudinal position, and mechanical guidance of said bars to keep them in alignment. Such a connection is particularly applicable to supplying power to handling devices such as cranes, travelling cranes, container transporters, etc.
Abstract: The invention relates to a conductor rail having at least one expansion joint between rigid section bars and presenting a friction shoe with a conductive guidance and friction path. In accordance with the invention, the free ends of the section bars have respective systems of interfitting parallel plates suitable for providing an expansion joint which ensures guidance continuity and electrical pickup continuity regardless of the relative longitudinal position of the section bars. Such conductive rails may be used to feed electricity to handling equipment such as cranes, travelling cranes, and container lifters.
Abstract: An improved apparatus for aligning and setting the gap between two rail ends comprises a rigid housing overlapping the two rails and providing an access area around the two rail ends. A first pair of presses and a second pair of presses are mounted in line on the frame and arranged so that the first pair of presses is situated between the second pair of presses. Each combination of a first press and a second press serves to grip one of the two rails to be joined. A pair of vertically mounted jacks are operatively secured to the second pair of presses to provide vertical movement of the second pair of presses independent of the rigid housing. Vertically adjustable support stops engage the tops of the rails and together with the vertically adjustable second presses effect vertical adjustment of the rails. The improved apparatus can be mounted singly or in pairs on a gantry and can include gap setting apparatus and weld dressing apparatus.
