  • Publication number: 20080218937
Abstract: Variably oriented capacitive elements for printed circuit boards (PCBs) and method of manufacturing the same. In one form the disclosure, a PCB can include a first multiple-layered capacitor including a first orientation and placed along a surface operable to mount electronic components. The PCB can also include a second multiple-layered capacitor including a second orientation different from the first. The second multiple-layered capacitor can be placed along the surface near the first multiple-layered capacitor.

  • Publication number: 20080209246
Abstract: A system and method of managing power consumption of communication interfaces and attached devices is disclosed. In one form of the disclosure, a communication module can include a communication interface operable to receive link utilization information of a plurality of communication channels of the communication interface. The communication module can also include a processor operable to determine a percent utilization of the plurality of communication channels using the link utilization information. The processor can also be operable to initiate issuing a power management request of at least one of the plurality of communication channels in response to comparing the percentage of link utilization to a threshold level.

  • Publication number: 20050191870
Abstract: A low profile expansion card retaining clip is disclosed. In one aspect, the present disclosure teaches a chassis component forming a part of a chassis including a panel having an aperture formed therein. The aperture maintains access to a computer component. The computer component has a bracket. A frame formed adjacent the aperture receives a portion of the bracket. A retaining clip movably couples to the frame such that the retaining clip moves between an engaged position and a disengaged position. The retaining clip oriented and designed to permit airflow through the frame. A spring member operably extending from a portion of the retaining clip, the spring member operably engages the bracket to secure the computer component to the chassis component in the engaged position and operably permits removal and installation of the computer component in the disengaged position.

  • Patent number: 6907457
Abstract: An intermediate system, such as a switch or storage domain manager, in a storage area network includes a plurality of clients, a file server which manages access to storage according to a file system architecture using file system parameters, and one or more storage systems. Processing resources are included in the intermediate system, which manage communication according to a storage area network protocol, such as SCSI and variations like FCP, which identifies units of storage according to storage area network parameters. The processing resources farther include logic to identify a particular message received from one of the plurality of clients under the storage area network protocol as a message relating to the file system architecture, to parse the particular message for file system parameters of an access according to the file system architecture, and to translate the file system parameters to an access using storage area network parameters.
