  • Patent number: 8245053
Abstract: Methods and systems for binding a removable trusted platform module (TPM) subsystem module to an information handling system to provide a core root of trust for the information handling system without requiring soldering down or other hard and permanent (non-removable) attachment of a TPM device to the information handling system planar (e.g., motherboard). The removable TPM subsystem module may be a plug-in module that may be removed from the information handling system planar (e.g., motherboard), while at the same time maintaining the transitive chain of trust, and being capable of remotely attesting its trusted state. An information handling system platform may be provided that has the capability and flexibility of supporting multiple TPMs on the same system planar.

  • Patent number: 7658498
Abstract: Automated orientation of an image presented by a display, such as a projector, with the orientation of the display simplifies presentation of images generated by an information handling system. A display orientation sensor detects the orientation of a display so that a display orientation module automatically adjusts the orientation of an image presented by the display to align with the display orientation. For example, display orientation is sensed by an accelerometer associated with the display or by determining the attachment point of the display to a support.

  • Patent number: 6418013
Abstract: A system and method for one touch operation of a docking station for a portable computer are disclosed that provide significant advantages over prior developed techniques. The disclosed embodiments provide an easily implemented and relatively inexpensive technique for adding security to a portable computer docking station. A system incorporating teachings of the present disclosure may include a docking station that has a latching mechanism and an ejection tab. The latching mechanism may be operable to releasably secure a portable computer to the docking station by moving from an unlocked orientation into a locked orientation. The ejection tab may be operable to eject the portable computer from the docking station by moving into an eject orientation. The system may also include a lever that has an unlocked position, a locked position, and an eject position.
