  • Patent number: 12135787
Abstract: An information handling system includes a basic input/output system (BIOS), a memory, and a processor. The processor scans a current state of each BIOS attribute in the BIOS, and stores one or more changed attributes in a secure event log in the memory. The processor converts each changed attribute into a different threat event including a first changed attribute into a first threat event. The processor provides a list of threat events to multiple threat chains, each of which determine whether the threat events match threat criteria in a threat chain policy. In response to the threat event matching a threat criterion in the threat chain policy, the threat chain provides a threat state change to the processor, which in turn provides new threat state changes to a threat state change consumer.

  • Patent number: 12135809
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that may be implemented in one example to physically transfer or relocate information handling systems between facilities of different system owners in a manner that is downstream of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the transferred information handling system/s, and which in one example may be managed in part or in whole by the OEM's customer base. In conjunction with facilitating physical transfer of each given information handling system directly between different enterprise owners, the disclosed systems and methods may also be implemented at the same time to utilize a unique identifier (that is assigned by the OEM manufacturer to each given information handling system) to manage transfer of the registration or other type of association of the given information handling system assets between the enterprise OEM user accounts of the different enterprise owners that are maintained by an OEM of the information handling system assets.

  • Patent number: 12135611
Abstract: A BIOS backup/recovery system includes a chassis housing a BIOS backup/recovery subsystem coupled to a primary and a secondary BIOS storage system. The BIOS backup/recovery subsystem begins initialization operations and determines whether the primary BIOS storage system includes customized MAC addresses. If so, the BIOS backup/recovery subsystem determines whether MAC addresses in the secondary BIOS storage system match the customized MAC addresses in the primary BIOS storage system and, if not, performs a BIOS backup operation that includes copying the customized MAC addresses in the primary BIOS storage system to the secondary BIOS storage system. If not, the BIOS backup/recovery subsystem determines whether MAC addresses in the secondary BIOS storage system match default MAC addresses in the primary BIOS storage system and, if not, performs a BIOS recovery operation that includes copying customized MAC addresses in the secondary BIOS storage system to the primary BIOS storage system.

  • Patent number: 12135596
Abstract: A voltage regulator system of an information handling system includes a Smart Power Stage (SPS) and a voltage regulator controller. The SPS includes a high-side transistor and a low-side transistor. The voltage regulator controller detects a normal power down of the information handling system and sets bleed state for the SPS to a first state. Based on the bleed state being set to the first state, the voltage regulator controller provides a first control voltage to the low-side transistor and a second control voltage to the high-side transistor. The first control voltage causes the low-side transistor to be fully turned on, and the second control voltage causes the high-side transistor to be in a linear region. In response to a predetermined amount of time expiring, the voltage regulator controller enters the SPS in an idle mode.

  • Patent number: 12135613
Abstract: A standby site is periodically synchronized to a primary site. The synchronizing includes copying blocks of a source volume at the primary site that have changed since a last synchronization to the standby site, and a bitmap specifying locations of the changed blocks. A synthetic full copy of the source volume is generated at the standby site. The synthetic full backup is validated by using the bitmap to identify locations on the synthetic full backup to verify. These locations correspond to the changed blocks. A progress of the validation is tracked. A user can specify a threshold percentage value of data that upon being validated indicates that the standby site is ready to assume production operation from the primary site. A readiness of the standby site to assume production operation is reported based on the progress of the validation and the threshold percentage value.

  • Patent number: 12135794
Abstract: Systems and methods provided for vulnerability proofing updates to an IHS (Information Handling System). Upon receipt of an update to hardware component configurations of the IHS, vulnerability proofing requirements for modifications to the hardware component configurations are retrieved, including requirements for modifications that are validated for operation of a computational workload by the IHS. Based on the vulnerability proofing requirements, catalogs specifying known vulnerabilities of hardware components are consulted to determine whether the modifications are identified as vulnerable in the catalogs and whether remediations to the identified vulnerabilities are validated for operation of the workload. If the modifications are not identified as vulnerable in the catalogs, the update is transmitted to the IHS. If the modifications are identified as vulnerable in the catalogs and remediations to the identified vulnerabilities are not validated for operation of the workload, the update is terminated.

  • Patent number: 12135528
Abstract: Methods and systems for power management are disclosed. The disclosed power management may facilitate the use of different components that may have different electrical current capacity limitations. The current capacity limitations may be based on, for example, physical limitations of the components, regulatory limitations, organizational limitations, and/or other considerations. It may not be desirable to exceed the current capacity limitations. By implementing the disclosed power management methods, systems, and/or devices, operation of devices may be less likely to result in the current drawn through devices such as power cables exceeding the current capacity limitations even while other devices operably connected to the cables do not have such current capacity limitations.

  • Patent number: 12135614
Abstract: A data protection agent is installed within a virtual machine (VM). A request to perform a backup is received. The request includes identifications of virtual machine disks (VMDKs) associated with the virtual machine. Communications are exchanged with a disk manager of a guest operating system of the VM to generate a map that maps the VMDKs to volumes attached to the VM. Communications are exchanged with an application in the VM to be protected to identify which of the volumes contain application databases associated with the application. A copy service is instructed to prepare the application for backup. A request is issued to a snapshot data mover for a snapshot of the application. The snapshot request includes identifications of a subset of the VMDKs mapped to corresponding volumes that contain the application databases. VMDKs mapped to corresponding volumes not containing the application databases are excluded from the snapshot request.
