Abstract: One or more aspects of the present disclosure relate to dynamically selecting a storage array and corresponding input/output (IO) paths between a host and the storage array. In embodiments, a virtual storage volume (VSV) can be established for a host entity using one or more storage device portions from a plurality of storage arrays. In addition, IO servicing metric parameters can be dynamically measured. The servicing metric parameters can define metrics corresponding to the VSV's assigned ports on each of the storage arrays or network latency between the host and each of the plurality of storage arrays. Further, a primary storage array from the plurality of storage arrays can be selected based on the IO servicing metrics.

Abstract: A disclosed method for managing access control in cloud based environment with on-premises and off-premises access portals includes storing account mapping information, indicative of an association between on-premises accounts off-premises accounts, to a lockbox in each of the plurality of clusters and deploying an off-premises agent in each of the clusters. One or more of the clusters may exist within a hyper-converged infrastructure system. Each off-premises agent may be configured to retrieve cluster access information indicative of access permissions for the on-premises node cluster and upload the cluster access information to an off-premises access control service. The access permissions for the on-premises cluster and the off-premises access permissions may comprise role based access permissions.

Abstract: Annulment of events written into an ordered event stream (OES) storage system is disclosed. Events can be written to one or more segments of an OES. An event can be invalid and overwriting the event can be desirable. A stream-cut event can be employed to facilitate annulment of the event via altering a portion of a segment of an OES. The stream-cut event can be durable. Annulment can avoid rewriting an entire stream and/or complicating a stream by adding mitigating events without overwriting invalid events. In an aspect, annulment can comprise moving a write cursor according to a stream-cut event. The annulment can be lossy or lossless. In an embodiment, annulment can be performed in single tier OES storage system. In another embodiment, multi-tier OES storage systems can facilitate annulment.

Abstract: In one aspect, an example methodology implementing the disclosed techniques includes, by a computing device, receiving a message for delivery to a message-oriented middleware (MOM) server and determining whether an anomaly is predicted in the MOM server. The method also includes, by the computing device, responsive to a determination that an anomaly is predicted in the MOM server, identifying an alternate MOM server for delivery of the message, and routing the message to the alternate MOM server. The method may also include, by the computing device, responsive to a determination that an anomaly is not predicted in the MOM server, delivering the message to the MOM server.

Abstract: An apparatus comprises at least one processing device that includes a processor coupled to a memory. The at least one processing device is configured to implement a source multi-path device between a source access device and a source logical storage device, to implement a target multi-path device between a target access device and a target logical storage device, and to initiate a data migration process to migrate data from the source logical storage device to the target logical storage device. The at least one processing device is further configured, in conjunction with the data migration process, to copy a set of paths of the source multi-path device to the target multi-path device, and to at least temporarily provide to the source access device identifying information of the source logical storage device in place of identifying information of the source multi-path device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for providing computer-implemented services are disclosed. To provide the computer-implemented services, hardware components that generate heat may be used. To manage the heat generated by the hardware components, a heat sink assembly may be used. The heat sink assembly may include features for adjusting its shape and/or size to accommodate other nearby components. By accommodating other components, the heat sink assembly may be used in spaces that would otherwise be unusable for thermal dissipation purposes due to the risk of mechanical interference between the heat sink assembly and the other components.

Abstract: A node, that includes a processor executing a first operating system, a peripheral port connected to a peripheral device, where the peripheral port is configured to block access to the peripheral device, a system control processor executing a second operating system, where the system control processor is configured to perform a method for providing access of the peripheral device to the first operating system, the method that includes receiving a peripheral access message from a remote authentication server, where the peripheral access message includes a peripheral device identifier associated with the peripheral device, and in response to receiving the peripheral access message, unblocking the access to the peripheral device.

Abstract: Shared hoteling workspaces and computer equipment are preconfigured based on location. A location associated with a mobile device is monitored. As the mobile device moves toward a workspace, computer peripheral equipment assigned to the workspace are identified and a best known configuration is retrieved. As the mobile device continues moving toward the workspace, the mobile device installs the best known configuration. Location-based policies and configuration events are defined and executed to ensure the best known configuration is timely installed. When the mobile device arrives at the workspace, the mobile device has been automatically configured to the computer peripheral equipment at the workspace. The mobile device is thus preconfigured, perhaps just in time, for immediate productivity and optimum user experience. Moreover, when the location of the mobile device no longer matches the workspace, the best known configuration may be automatically deleted to conserve memory.

Abstract: An external display may support bias lighting via lights located on the rear of the display. Embodiments provide a baffle connected to the rear of the display such that the baffle redirects light output from the rear-facing bias lights. According to one embodiment, a display for presenting information generated by an Information Handling System (IHS) includes a screen disposed on a front side of the display, one or more bias lights disposed on a rear side of the display, a baffle comprising a baffle surface, the baffle coupled to the rear side of the display, and a selectively reflective layer disposed on the baffle surface, wherein the selectively reflective layer has a reflectivity that is changeable to selectively reflect a varying amount of light outputted from the bias lights.

Abstract: A method, an electronic device, and a computer program product for generating a three-dimensional scene are provided in embodiments of the present disclosure. The method may include obtaining source image features from a plurality of two-dimensional source images associated with the three-dimensional scene to be generated. The method may further include obtaining editing features from an editing instruction input by a user for the three-dimensional scene, each of the editing features respectively forming a feature pair with each of the source image features. Furthermore, the method may include updating the source image features by maximizing a correlation coefficient of each of the feature pairs, and generating the three-dimensional scene based at least on the updated source image features. Embodiments of the present disclosure can realize arbitrary editing of a three-dimensional scene, thus enhancing the experience of human-computer interaction.

Abstract: In one aspect, a computer-implemented method includes: identifying a plurality of storage devices accessible to a node of a computer cluster, the storage devices being identified as not having labels; determining one or more attributes of individual ones of the storage devices; determining, by the node, intended uses of the storage devices based on comparing the determined attributes to attributes defined within a configuration file; and generating labels for the storage devices based in least in part on the determined intended uses; and applying the labels to the storage devices.

Abstract: A method for managing data replication includes: identifying data being used by an application programming interface (API), in which the data is stored in a source device; tagging the data based on a usage level of the data by the API; obtaining a predicted probability of the usage level of the data; making a first determination that the data is tagged as important data and the predicted probability of the usage level of the data is low; and replicating, based on the first determination, the data from the source device to a target device.

Abstract: A portable information handling system camera module has a single shutter that slides in response to a single shutter mechanism to manage access for a field of view of both a visual camera and an infrared camera by sliding only between first and second positions, the first position aligning an opening of the shutter with a visual camera and a shield visual camera opening, the second position blocking the opening of the shutter and extending an end of the shutter over infrared camera. The shutter assembly routes power from a circuit board to the visual camera to provide secondary security for the visual camera by powering off the camera when the shutter is unlocked to move, such that manual unlocking of the shutter removes power from the visual camera even when the shutter is open.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for implementing and managing a multi-modal write cache for a data storage system. For example, a storage control system is configured to perform a write caching method which comprises the storage control system receiving an input/output (I/O) write request from a client application to write data to a primary storage volume, comparing a current I/O workload associated with the client application to an I/O workload threshold, and writing the data of the I/O write request to one of (i) a persistent write cache in a persistent storage volume and (ii) a non-persistent write cache in a non-persistent storage volume, based at least in part on a result of comparing the current I/O workload to the I/O workload threshold.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that may be implemented to orchestrate trusted enrollment of an endpoint client information handling system by deploying a signed payload of an enrollment package to the endpoint client system, and by using a client software agent executing on the endpoint client system to first verify the distribution chain and/or signature of the deployed enrollment package before proceeding to use other information contained in the enrollment package to contact a registration server to enroll the endpoint client system.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for implementing a distributed hierarchical cluster management system. A system comprises a data storage system and a cluster management system. The data storage system comprises a cluster of storage nodes that is partitioned into a plurality of subclusters of storage nodes. The cluster management system is deployed on at least some of the storage nodes of the data storage system, and comprises a global management system and a plurality of local management subsystems. Each local management subsystem is configured to manage a respective subcluster of the plurality of subclusters of storage nodes, and communicate with the global management system to provide subcluster status information to the global management system regarding a current state and configuration of the respective subcluster of storage nodes. The global management system is configured to manage the cluster of storage nodes using the subcluster status information provided by the local management subsystems.

Abstract: A method in an illustrative embodiment includes storing one or more mapping entries of domain names to Internet protocol (IP) addresses in a cache of a programmable switch, wherein the mapping entries are obtained according to historical DNS responses from a DNS server; acquiring, by the programmable switch, a domain name in a DNS request received from a client; searching the cache of the programmable switch for an IP address corresponding to the domain name; generating, by the programmable switch according to the DNS request and the IP address corresponding to the domain name if the IP address is found, a DNS response that is to be sent to the client, wherein the DNS response comprises the IP address corresponding to the domain name that is found in the cache; and sending, by the programmable switch, the DNS response comprising the IP address to the client.

Abstract: Techniques for storage testing involve: acquiring a first state of a storage system including first input/output (IO) load information; taking a first action based on the first state, the first action causing the first IO load information to be changed to second IO load information; updating the first action to be a reserved action for the first state if it is obtained based on the second IO load information that the storage system reaches a preset condition; and obtaining an action combination of a plurality of IO load information changes based on a plurality of reserved actions corresponding to a plurality of states, wherein the plurality of states include the first state. Accordingly, the most effective load combination change mode for the storage system can be found automatically and more accurately, so as to find more vulnerabilities of the storage system, thereby improving the efficiency of storage system testing.
