    Abstract: A web-based method for manufacturing and selling custom-made, high-end products includes the step of receiving, by a designer, information from a remote client relating to the remote client's environment and preferences, all the information received from the remote client. The designer selects an item satisfying a design need of the environment. A representation of the environment including the selected item is displayed to the remote client. The designer issues, to a manufacturer, a purchase order for the selected item.
