  • Patent number: 6491999
Abstract: The invention relates to a covering part with cable channels and a cabled covering part such as a carpet for vehicles, which is provided with several self-closing channels acommodating a cable network. These channels can be formed directly into the spring-elastic part of the covering or can comprise a plastic or foam rubber sleeve slotted on their longitudinal side and lying in the covering part. The inexpensive and simple to manufacture covering part permits an exact leading of the cables, a good protection for the cable network and a simple and quick application and exchange of the cables. The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing such a covering part.

  • Patent number: 6191590
Abstract: A device and method for determining the state of charge of a battery includes a microprocessor-controlled arithmetic unit connected in parallel to the terminal voltage of the battery. The arithmetic unit is selectively connectable with an ohmic reference resistance placed in parallel with a load resistance which is arranged in series with the battery, and with a capacitor chargeable or dischargeable via the arithmetic unit. The arithmetic unit is further capable of acquiring a value of the voltage drop across the capacitor. The arithmetic unit is operable in a first operating state in which it is disconnected from the reference resistance, and a second operating state in which the arithmetic unit is connected with the resistance. After the capacitor is charged to the terminal voltage of the battery, it is allowed to discharge. With the arithmetic unit in the first operating state, a first point in time marked by the voltage across the capacitor reaching a first threshold value is registered.

  • Patent number: 6073064
Abstract: A device for limiting access to authorized users, for example, a vehicle access limiting device, includes a control device and a key device. The control device has memory wherein a preset user code and a preset secret code are stored. The key device has a transponder which includes a memory for storing the user code and the secret code transferred from the control device. The transponder emits the user code which has been encoded with the transferred secret code. The control device includes a comparison device which allows access only when the encoded user code emitted by the transponder agrees with preset information stored in the control device. The key device also includes a comparison device which prevents overwriting of the taught secret code unless it also receives the taught user code.

  • Patent number: 5839912
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical plug-and-socket connection comprising two detachable connecting parts, which, by means of a laterally extensible slide, both can be axially coupled together and decoupled. The one connecting part comprises a socket housing having control means. The other connecting part comprises a complementary plug housing having a laterally protruding coupling journal. The slide possesses a profiled coupling channel. In order to achieve a space-saving construction of the plug-and-socket connection, it is proposed to provide two different control means between the slide and the socket housing. The first control means is an axial control mechanism having an essentially linear groove in the socket housing and a radial bearing cam on the slide, which simultaneously determines the pivot bearing for a pivot motion of the slide.

  • Patent number: 5829880
Abstract: In a media conducting device which effects a temperature measurement of the medium is used a media conducting pipe 11 with a lateral exit on which is arranged a group of sensors. This component group includes a sensor housing with electric temperature sensor 40 with two contact pins 27, 28 projecting from the sensor housing. In order to develop an inexpensive, space-saving device it is proposed to provide the pipe 11 with a one-piece connecting piece 12. This results in a T-pipe combination 10. The moulded-on connecting piece 12 thus forms the essential part of the sensor housing, whilst the remainder of the sensor housing consists of a stopper 30. This stopper 30 is a constituent part of a plug unit 20 which serves merely as support for the contact pins 21, 22 and the temperature sensor 40 connected thereto.

  • Patent number: 5823627
Abstract: A vehicle seat (10) has a lower seat frame (14) and a seat back (16) pivoted about a recliner axis (20). An occupant (22) restraining shoulder belt (26) has an upper attachment point provided by a sliding belt guide (40) fixed to the top of a resilient, flexible elongated tower (36) attached to one side of the seat back (16). The tower (36) is normally unflexed, with the same orientation as the seat back (16), but is capable of bending with the belt guide (40) down and forwardly relative to the seat back and closer to the recliner axis (20) when a forward and downward force is applied to the belt guide (40). An inertially locking belt retractor (24) is rigidly fixed to the seat (10) below the belt guide (40). The retractor (24) provides a reserve length of belt (50) that extends up along the back of the tower (36) and over the belt guide (40) and then continues into the shoulder belt (26).

  • Patent number: 5788540
Abstract: The invention relates to a connecting part of a two-part plug-and-socket connection, the housing of which has at least two axial housing chambers lying next to each other in pairs, between which there is an axial partition. The housing chambers serve respectively to receive electrical contact parts, which, in their defined end position, extend as far as a coupling portion of the housing, which can be plugged-in with a complementary coupling portion of the other connecting part forming part of the plug-and-socket connection. In order to obtain a space-saving connecting part in which a slide displaying blocking elements locks the inserted contact parts in their end position within the housing chambers, it is proposed to configure the slide from a detachable segment of the axial partition and to configure the blocking elements for the locking from radial projections on this partition element.
