The two zippers (1, 2) are superposed in the immediate proximity of one another, such that the teeth (1a, 2a) of the zippers (1, 2) touch under the action of external pressure on the outside zipper (1) by a tip (P) or a pointed tool, by keeping the teeth of the outside zipper (1) from dislocating downward under the pressure of the tip or the pointed tool (P).

Abstract: A rolling soft sided luggage case enclosing a volume and having opposing sidewalls, the sidewalls being supported by a tubular strut frame structure independent of the wheel housings mounted at the rear corners of the case. A straddle bracket affixed to a middle region of a side edge of the structural base joins the rear sidewall strut to the rigid base without engaging the wheel housing in order to facilitate ease of construction and repair of the wheel bracket. The levered portion of the base to which the wheel housing is affixed serves as a dampened swing arm on which the luggage case is sprung in order to isolate the structural frame of the case from bumps while being rolled and to and dampen shocks to the structure.

Abstract: A device for holding coathangers in an item of luggage, the device comprising a support adapted for attachment to a wall of the item of luggage, a peg axially extending from a first end attached to the support to a second end and a cover attached to the support for selective rotational movement between an open position permitting coathanger hooks to be placed on and removed from the peg and a closed position substantially covering the peg and coathanger hooks thereon, the cover in the closed position cooperating with the peg to define a space enclosing the coathanger hooks.

Abstract: A rigid or semi-rigid suitcase consists of a central frame forming a closed rigid annulus to which are assembled two rigid shells, one shell being welded to one side of the frame and the other shell being hinged on the other side. The suitcase is further characterized in that the central frame, made of a single piece, is shaped so that it comprises, in its latch portion or top panel, a recess closed by a reinforcing member with which the recess cooperates so as to form a hollow beam serving as a stiffening member for the top of the suitcase, the hollow beam receiving the locking mechanisms, the central handle and the lateral handle of the suitcase.

Abstract: An article of luggage of the type comprising elastic straps for holding down the objects carried therein, characterized in that each end of a strap (14) is fixed to the inner wall of the suitcase by means of a fastening member (15) carrying an anchoring clamp (17) for one end of said strap and at least one hook (16, 18) having a gap (19) on one of its sides, through which the strap may be inserted into either of said hooks (16, 18) for modifying the spacing of said strap from the bottom of the suitcase.

Abstract: The handle for a luggage case has two end portions and a rigid portion extending substantially across the top side of the case between two ends of the top side when in a first position. One end of the handle is pivotably attached to one end of the top side of the case. The other end of the handle is securable to the other end of the top side of the case. When the handle is in a first position it enables a user to lift and carry the case. The securable end of the handle may also be released and positioned at a substantially greater distance from the case than the other end of the handle for engagement by a user for dragging the case along the ground while allowing the user to maintain a relatively upright position. Wheels attached to the case define a plane along the ground.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing soft-sided luggage comprising the steps of forming in one piece an elongated plastic member having a U-shaped longitudinal cross section, transversely cutting from the member two frame elements of substantially identical, predetermined length, each frame element having a longitudinal U-shaped cross section including a base and two spaced, generally parallel legs, interconnecting the frame elements in opposed relationship by joining each opposed pair of legs with a one-piece resilient plastic wall element to form a generally rectangular hollow peripheral shell having two opposed open sides, and covering the shell with a flexible material including means for selectively obtaining access through at least one open side to the hollow interior of the shell.

Abstract: An apparatus for retaining garments securely in place within a folding garment bag and on respective hangers includes a pair of straps forming "suspenders" diagonally across the garments and a second pair of straps forming a "belt" horizontally thereacross. The diagonal suspenders encircle the garment and, in conjunction with elasticized supports extending from the top of the garment bag, maintain the garment in place on their respective hangers.

Abstract: A frame for a flexible suitcase comprises a single closed moulding of substantially rectangular longitudinal section, having an upper edge, a lower edge and two side edges interconnecting said upper and lower edges. The moulding is manufactured in a single pressure moulding operation from a synthetic material and is provided with a groove open towards the outside. Accessory supports are moulded in one piece with the aforementioned moulding.
