  • Patent number: 11878597
Abstract: A wireless power transfer arrangement (20) for a wireless power transfer across an airgap (9) by inductive coupling, for example for charging the battery (31) of an electric vehicle, includes a primary side (21) with a primary pad (22) for generating a magnetic field (28) into the airgap (9) and a secondary side (24) arranged on the other side of the airgap (9) that picks up the magnetic field (28) and provides the energy received through the magnetic field (28) to the battery (31). The primary side (21) is for example installed at a charging station and the secondary side (24) is comprised by the electric vehicle. In order to control the charging process during the power transfer, a wireless communication channel (38) is provided between the primary (21) and the secondary (24) by means of two wireless transceivers (35, 36). According to the invention, the wireless transceivers (35, 36) are adapted such that their communication range is less than twice a largest spatial extent of the primary pad.

  • Patent number: 11763983
Abstract: A passive, current dependent inductivity (1) comprises a magnetic core (2), windings (3) and at least one bank air gap (4). A saturation region (5) made of magnetic material is arranged between the bank air gap (4) and the windings (3). A magnetic flux path (6) bifurcates into a first path (61) passing through the saturation region (5) and into a second path (62) passing through the bank air gap (4) and bypassing the saturation region (5). The magnetic resistance of the first path (61) is lower than the magnetic resistance of the second path (62) for winding currents below a first saturation current (7a) and whereby the magnetic resistance of the second path (62) is lower than the magnetic resistance of the first path (61) for winding currents above the first saturation current (7a) due to saturation of the saturation region.

  • Patent number: 11756726
Abstract: New and Useful magnetic structures are provided. One feature of the magnetic structures is that they are configured to help minimize the air gap reluctance, improving the magnetic structure's coupling coefficient. Another feature is that reducing the windings AC impedance of a magnetic structure is produced by shielding the winding under ears formed of magnetic material. Still another feature is that leakage inductance of a magnetic structure is reduced, by making ears with cuts which converge toward the magnetic rods that are used in the formation of the structure.
