Abstract: An integrated bathroom electronic system including a plurality of sensors to detect conditions within a bathroom and to provide signals indicative thereof to a controller. A plurality of distinct and exclusive modules or subsystems are illustratively provided for integration into the system. Such modules may include a quick hot water module, a roman tub module, a custom shower module, a hands free faucet module, and a tub shower module. In certain illustrative faucet modules, a controller is configured to select between a manual mode of operation and a hands-free mode of operation in response to a mode signal, and is configured to control an electrically operable valve in response to a proximity signal during the hands-free mode of operation.

Abstract: An electronic faucet including a delivery spout, a valve cartridge, a bonnet nut securing the valve cartridge within the delivery spout, and a handle operably coupled to a valve stem of the valve cartridge. The bonnet nut is illustratively formed of a conductive polymer. A contact spring is supported by the valve stem, wherein an electrically conductive path extends from the faucet handle, the contact spring, the bonnet nut and the delivery spout.
Abstract: A side sprayer includes an inactive configuration, a normal active configuration, and a locked active configuration. The side sprayer includes three buttons to allow the user to transition between configurations of the side sprayer.
Abstract: A faucet spout includes an arm extending from an upstream portion to a downstream portion. The arm defines a longitudinal axis extending between the upstream portion and the downstream portion. A passageway is disposed in the arm, and the passageway is configured to receive water from a water source. A plurality of baffles is disposed in the passageway. The plurality of baffles defines a tortuous flow path in the passageway. An outlet is disposed substantially perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis. The outlet is configured to receive water from the passageway and deliver water from the faucet spout.

Abstract: A showerhead assembly with a plurality of speakers is disclosed. The illustrative showerhead assembly includes a showerhead to exert fluid, a support structure to transport the fluid to the showerhead, and a plurality of speakers to exert sound with a consistent directionality. The showerhead assembly illustratively includes a dome housing having an inner wall and an outer rim, a showerhead to exert fluid, a support structure extending from a center of the housing such that the support structure has a first end attachable to a wall or ceiling and a second end distal from the first end and the support structure transports the fluid to the showerhead, and a plurality of speakers disposed on the support structure such that the speakers are directed toward the inner wall of the housing and the speakers generate and exert sound with a consistent directionality.

Abstract: An electronic faucet assembly having a faucet body and a mounting shank. At least one electrically controlled valve is disposed in a fluid line between the fluid supply and a fluid passageway supported by the faucet body. A controller is configured to control operation of the valve. A circuit component supported on the faucet body is in electrical communication with a proximal portion of the mounting shank. A spring clip in electrical communication with the control circuit is mounted on a smooth cylindrical surface of the distal portion of the mounting shank. The mounting shank may be aluminum with an aluminum oxide layer on the smooth cylindrical surface. Electrical signals may be conducted between the spring clip and mounting shank by capacitive coupling without conduction of electrical current between the spring clip and mounting shank. The spring clip may be dimensioned to prevent incorrect installation on the mounting shank.
