Patent number: 10436033Abstract: A fan system includes a motor, a rotatable hub, and a plurality of fan blades. Each of the fan blades includes a substantially rigid spine member, a resilient leading edge member, and a resilient trailing edge member. The leading edge member and trailing edge members are removably coupled with the spine member, such that different leading edge members and different trailing edge members may be chosen to customize the leading and trailing edges of the fan blades. Each fan blade may have more than one type of leading edge member or more than one type of trailing edge member. The leading edge member and trailing edge member may each be coupled with the spine member by urging the leading edge member and trailing edge member in a direction that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis defined by the spine member.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2013Date of Patent: October 8, 2019Assignee: Delta T, LLCInventors: J. Patent number: 10309663Abstract: A system and related method are disclosed for controlling condensation in a space. The system includes a fan and one or more sensors for sensing environmental conditions such as temperature and relative humidity associated with the space and/or objects within the space. For instance, the sensors may sense a surface temperature of an object within the room. The system also includes a controller capable of receiving measurements from the sensor(s) and controlling the fan based on the sensed information. The system may additionally include a heater and/or a damper for transferring outside air into the space, either of which may be controlled by the controller based on the measurements.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2014Date of Patent: June 4, 2019Assignee: DELTA T, LLCInventors: Christian R. Taber, Mark Toy, Jay Fizer, Ed Quinn

Patent number: 10154565Abstract: A lighting system comprises a plurality of lights, a sensor for measuring a light level associated with each light, and at least one controller for generating a light output from at least one light of the plurality of lights. The controller is adapted for adjusting the light output from the at least one light by an incremental amount to bring the measured light level closer to a target light level, which may correspond to an overall brightness for the space including the lights. Related methods are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2017Date of Patent: December 11, 2018Assignee: DELTA T, LLCInventors: Jonathan William Wiley Olsen, Stephen Alexander Harper, Adam Glenn Tucker, Thomas James Lesser, James Tristan Miller, Mitchell Thomas Kiser, Marcus Landon Borders, Warner Lee Wells, Kristjen Ejvind Kjems, Jason Robert Bishop, Paul Frederick Wigler

Patent number: 10054131Abstract: A fan assembly comprises a hub and fan blades. The hub includes a plurality of sockets configured to receive complementary mounting blocks of the fan blades. The mounting blocks each include at least one tapered shoulder portion. The mounting blocks are each tapered along three dimensions. Each mounting block comprises a rear face seated against a complementary rear face of the corresponding socket and a front face that is exposed relative to the hub. A cap secures the fan blades to the hub. The fan assembly may also include one or more shrouds positioned about the fan blades. The one or more shrouds may be substantially straight cylinders, may be flared or bell-shaped, may comprise a cage, may have any other suitable configuration, or may be omitted altogether.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2010Date of Patent: August 21, 2018Assignee: DELTA T, LLCInventors: Richard M. Aynsley, Richard A. Oleson

Patent number: 8960789Abstract: A child vehicle safety seat may include a seat base, a first side frame, a second side frame, a strap and belt assembly, and a compressible piece. The seat base is pivotally coupled to the first and second side frames. The strap and belt assembly is coupled to the side frames and to the compressible piece. Upon an exerted force, the seat base swings about a pivot axis defined by its pivotal coupling to the side frames. The compressible piece is compressed by the strap and belt assembly and the swinging movement of the seat base is dampened.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2013Date of Patent: February 24, 2015Assignee: F Delta T LLCInventor: Starla Jones

Patent number: 6763665Abstract: A food chiller including an enclosed container supported on a base receives a flow of cooling air from a Peltier effect thermoelectric module in the base through cool air inlet openings into the container. Air is returned from the container to the base by a fan mounted in the air duct system in communication with the cold sink of the thermoelectric device. In each of the disclosed embodiments, duct length is minimized and air flow into the container is optimized by air hole placement and orientation.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2002Date of Patent: July 20, 2004Assignee: Delta T, LLCInventors: George A. Clark, Mark S. Thompson

Patent number: 6658858Abstract: A fruit chiller includes a bowl-like fruit container and a removable cover, each of which has a two layer wall defining therebetween annular cooling air flow passages. Cool air is delivered from a lower base and, when the cover is on the container, cool air flows upwardly through the interconnected annular passages and into the container at the top of the cover. The air flows downwardly and exits the container at the bottom, thereby maximizing the distance between the cool air inlet and outlet to maximize the time the cool air remains within the container.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2002Date of Patent: December 9, 2003Assignee: Delta T, LLCInventors: Mark S. Thompson, George A. Clark

Patent number: 6651445Abstract: A food chiller includes a container into which cool air is moved over the cold sink of a Peltier effect thermoelectric device and directly into the container. Return air from the container exits the bottom of the container directly into the fan for recirculation. Elimination of a long air duct system simplifies the construction and reduces heat loss.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2002Date of Patent: November 25, 2003Assignee: Delta T, LLCInventors: George A. Clark, Chris W. Cicenas, Joshua A. Broehl

Patent number: 6625991Abstract: A spaced saving fruit chiller is adapted to be mounted under a covered or horizontal surface or placed in a corner on a counter. The interior of the container is cooled by a forced air flow utilizing a Peltier thermoelectric device, one wall of the container forming a wall of the air flow duct system and containing both the air inlet holes to the container and the air outlet holes from the container into the duct system.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2002Date of Patent: September 30, 2003Assignee: Delta T, LLCInventor: George A. Clark

Patent number: 6619045Abstract: A fruit chiller has a semispherical bowl-like container for holding fruit or other food products with the bowl forming with the supporting base a cooling air supply passage. Cooling air flows into the bowl over the upper edge and variations in the cross section of the cooling air supply passage induces a turbulence in the cooling air that enhances air distribution and cooling efficiency.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2002Date of Patent: September 16, 2003Assignee: Delta T, LLCInventor: George A. Clark

Patent number: 6295820Abstract: A chiller for fresh fruit and other perishable food products is cooled with a thermoelectric device and includes a cool air recirculating system that minimizes air flow path lengths and provides uniform cool air distribution throughout a fruit container removably supported above the thermoelectric module. The cooling air flow duct system is formed in part by the bottom wall of the container, thereby enhancing direct cooling air flow contact in minimizing the lengths of the flow paths.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2000Date of Patent: October 2, 2001Assignee: Delta T, LLCInventors: Charles J.
