  • Patent number: 4354669
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for regulating the percentage quantities of individual gases present in the combustion air supplied for reaction processes in metallurgy. A molecular sieve absorption material is used on the intake air to absorb the inert constituents to thereby enhance the quantity of oxygen present. The apparatus utilizes several molecular sieve materials in a continuous manner such that one of the devices containing the molecular sieve material is being purged for regeneration while another device is absorbing the inert constituents, while yet another device is cooling, i.e., getting ready for the absorption operation. The countercurrent flow of heated intake air, which air is derived from the metallurgical reaction process, is used in the apparatus for regenerating the molecular sieve material.

  • Patent number: 4350241
Abstract: A mobile bulk goods delivery system is provided for spacing and evening out the delivery of quantities of bulk goods received so that subsequent operations in a production line are not jammed with intermittent overload quantities of bulk goods to be processed. The delivery system of the disclosure is an equalizer mounted on a mobile support for pivoting around a horizontal axis. The equalizer includes a delivery belt system which has positioned on one end thereof a bulk goods receiving container pivotally mounted, again on a horizontal axis. The equalizer is capable of being moved from one location to another, as desired. The configuration of the container with respect to the support is such that the container, when in its operative position, is recessed below ground level, and when being moved from one location to another, is maintained above ground level.

  • Patent number: 4345939
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for regulating the percentage quantities of individual gases present in the combustion air supplied for reaction processes in metallurgy. This is achieved by utilizing molecular sieve absorption processes upon the intake air in a sequential manner to remove undesirable gases attendant with the intake air and to enhance and regulate the quantity of oxygen present. The arrangement may be operated in a continuous manner through the utilization of several molecular sieve devices wherein one of such devices may be purged for regeneration and later use by countercurrent flow of heated intake air which air has been heated by the heat derived from the metallurgical reaction process in the first place.

  • Patent number: 4239101
Abstract: A means for quickly placing a roller set onto a supporting shaft is disclosed. Generally, a guide sleeve is mounted at one end of the shaft and formed whereby the upper surfaces of the sleeve provide an aligned continuation of the upper surface of the supporting shaft. The remaining portions of the sleeve surface taper inwardly away from the imaginary continuation of the shaft surface. Thus, the sleeve has a diameter somewhat less than the outer diameter of the supporting shaft and accordingly, less than the inner diameter of the roller set. This arrangement facilitates a slipping of the roller set onto the guide sleeve without a need for precisely aligning the roller set with respect to the guide sleeve. The configuration of the upper surfaces of the sleeve insures the proper alignment of the roller set with the supporting shaft. Once the roller set is placed onto the guide sleeve, it may then be easily slipped from the sleeve and onto the shaft.
