Abstract: The apparatus has two plate electrodes surrounded by a third electrode. The third electrode is maintained at an electric potential equal to half of the electric potential between the two plate electrodes. The fluid is passed between the two plate electrodes and the changes in capacitance between the two plate electrodes is measured. From this measurement the fraction of gas in the fluid is determined.
Abstract: A valve for regulating the through-flow of a fluid from an inlet (10) to an outlet (11), especially for regulating a gas flow from a place (4) with a higher pressure than the ambient pressure, the valve (2) being arranged to be opened by an operating means (22) which is mechanically coupled to a means sensing the pressure at said place (4). The valve comprises a piston (7) which is slidable in a piston guide (8), a sealing seat (12) for the piston (7) being provided at the end of the piston guide (8) facing away from the place (4) with higher pressure. The other end (14) of the piston guide (8) is closed and together with an adjacent end face (15) of the piston (7) define a chamber (16).

Abstract: A demountable coupling device for submarine pipeline sections (33,34,35) where one or a plurality of conduits can be connected together on the seabed by a remotely controlled operation without the use of divers or guidewires. The connection of the pipeline sections, which are provided with square flanges (2), takes place by a vertical movement of the coupling unit (1) of the coupling device, which is provided with a groove (1') at each of its ends, the grooves being adapted for reception of the largely vertical portions of the pipeline flanges (2) when in an operating position on the seabed. The casing (1) of the coupling unit contains all components which are necessary for the connections.

Abstract: The present invention concerns an assembly of pipes, particularly but not exclusively submarine pipes, adapted to permit disconnection of a tubular member therefrom while maintaining the interior of the remainder of the assembly isolated therefrom. The assembly comprises a first pipe provided with a first tubular connection portion for coaxial connection to a second tubular connection portion of a tubular member. The tubular member is also provided with a tubular extension which is coaxial with the second connection portion and houses a closure means. The end of the tubular extension is adapted to receive the casing of a manipulator for moving the closure means from the tubular extension into the first connection portion of the first pipe to isolate the first pipe from the tubular member and permit disconnection thereof.

Abstract: The procedure for draining off shallow gas from the seabed and arrangement for execution of the procedure, whereby through the upper sedimentary layer is placed a system of vertical drainage piles (2) for gas around the site in question for location of a construction on the seabed or along a pipeline route on the seabed. The arrangement includes principally a base plate (1) with a central hole for acceptance of a drainage pile (2) after the base plate (1) has been placed on the seabed.
